Major League Baseball employees assembled 40 “You Matter Kits” that will be given to local students in East Orange, NJ. With the aim to help young people learn more about their mental health, these kits include inspirational messages, heartwarming notes written by MLB employees, a breathing exercise card, and additional items. Youth empowerment is one of the seven pillars of MLB Together, the League’s social responsibility program. This event, in partnership with Jersey Cares, was a special way for MLB employees to empower youth in their community by giving them resources to focus on their mental well-being. #MLBTogether

This week our MLB Black ERG hosted their annual 7th Inning Stretch event with a special fireside chat featuring former Major League centerfielder, two-time All-Star and 1995 World Series Champion, Marquis Grissom. During the conversation, Marquis reflected on his legendary career, shared insights from his personal journey, and spotlighted the impactful initiatives of the Marquis Grissom Baseball Association and his work with the MLB Develops program. The conversation was moderated by MLB Black ERG Board Member, Kaelan Ashford-Jones. A huge thank you to our MLB Black ERG Co-Chairs, Ashley Britt, MBA, Karen Abdul, MBA, and Jalen Burks, for their leadership in making this event a success! #MLBTogether #MLBBlackERG #BlackHistoryMonth

In honor of National Girls & Women in Sports Day, MLB’s Baseball & Softball Development department hosted two incredible events today: This afternoon, girls from P.S. 111 Adolph S. Ochs participated in a special PLAY BALL event with softball legends & MLB’s youth softball ambassadors Jennie Finch and Natasha Watley. In addition, more than 70 women working in all areas of baseball and softball, at both MLB and our Clubs, were VIP guests at our office. For the third consecutive year, the special gathering celebrated women with panel discussions, workshops, and an opportunity to network with MLB officials working in various capacities. We were proud to celebrate the girls and women who play and work in the game we all love. #NGWSD #MLBTogether
