NHL Network™ announced the launch of its new show, NHL Tonight: First Shift, which is set to begin Tuesday, October 8, the first domestic night of the 2024-25 NHL season. Set as a casual and conversational style show featuring hard-hitting opinions and analysis on the news of the day, the daily program will be co-hosted by longtime NHL Network broadcaster EJ Hradek and a rotating group of NHL Network analysts, including Kevin Weekes, Tony Granato, Bill Lindsay and NHL.com’s Dan Rosen. The premiere episode featuring Hradek and Weekes on October 8 will start at 3:30 p.m. ET, before settling into its regular timeslot of 4 pm. ET on Wednesday, October 9. Before the Florida Panthers raise their Stanley Cup Championship banner on Oct. 8, fans will be able to relive the team’s triumphant 2023-24 season with the Stanley Cup Championship Film. The two-hour film is now available to stream on ESPN+ for fans in the U.S. In addition to on-demand streaming on ESPN+, the film will air on ESPN2 on Sunday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. ET. The film will also be available on Sportsnet and Prime Video in Canada.

Prime Video and the NHL announced the roster of hosts, play-by-play announcers, analysts and reporters for its inaugural season of Prime Monday Night Hockey and NHL Coast to Coast. Prime Monday Night Hockey, which will stream all national regular season Monday night NHL games in English throughout the 2024-25 season for Prime Members in Canada, begins on Thanksgiving (Monday, Oct. 14) with the Montreal Canadiens hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins, at 7 p.m. ET. NHL Coast to Coast, a live, weekly whiparound studio show airing on Thursday nights in Canada, premieres on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. ET and will feature live look-ins, highlights and expert analysis of every NHL game that night. Exclusive NHL content in Canada is among the growing lineup of live sports offerings that come with Prime. Prime Monday Night Hockey will feature an all-star cast lead by veteran play-by-play announcer John Forslund, alongside analysts Jody Shelley, Thomas Hickey, and Shane Hnidy. Anchoring the Prime Monday Night sports desk all from on-site will be Adnan Virk, Andi Petrillo, analyst Blake Bolden, and a mix of local guests throughout the season. At an exclusive screening of Disney Pixar’s box office hit ‘Inside Out 2’ this summer, the NHL Foundation and PWHL hosted 100 girls and boys from five different hockey teams and NHL/NHLPA Learn to Play programs. The kids came together to celebrate hockey with Team USA Olympic gold medalist and NHL Foundation ambassador Haley Skarupa and PWHL New York player Madison Packer. The NHL Foundation received a $75,000 donation from the Congressional Hockey Challenge charity. The funds will go toward the Empowerment Grant Program for Girls Hockey to support nonprofits across the U.S. dedicated to growing the game for girls and women.
