Every survivor supported by Rooms Restored will receive a Hope Lamp as a symbol of their strength and resilience. Navigating conversations about sex and sexual abuse with your child can feel daunting, but it’s beneficial for their safety and well-being. Begin by creating an open environment where your child feels safe to ask questions. Share age-appropriate information and remember, you are their primary source of information and trust. Communicate early and often, and admit when you are wrong or were not your best self, so the child feels safe to confide in you. By doing so, you can help reduce the risk of child sexual abuse and foster a strong, consistent pattern of communication that will help your child be prepared for the coming school year. Rooms Restored is dedicated to creating restorative spaces for children who have endured sexual abuse. We’ve seen so much impact since we launched this program in 2020. We’re excited to keep that momentum going with our new internship partnership with Bridgerland Technical College's Interior Design Department! This collaboration with BTECH Interior Design is all about empowering students with real-world experience while creating healing spaces for survivors through a safe, trauma-informed process.
