We work to confront child sexual exploitation, specifically sex trafficking and online abuse.

About us

As the charitable arm of Malouf, a premium bedding company, we have the unique opportunity to raise funds through our product sales, industry fundraising efforts, and public donations. Together, with partners from the community and our causes, we work to ensure every child lives with freedom, justice, and dignity—and enjoys a safe home. Officially registered as a 501(c)(3) organization in 2016, we continue the decade-long tradition of donating comfortable sleep products to a variety of causes and organizations including women’s shelters, safe homes, foster care families, community events, and more.

The SAFE Symposium was a huge success! Thank you to all the speakers and community members who participated in these important discussions. Let’s continue the momentum!

This week community members gathered at the annual SAFE Symposium for meaningful discussions and collaboration around what we can do to stop child sexual abuse. Organizations involved in this important work across Utah shared how they are taking action to support this cause. Our Spoke Leaders each gave updates on the organizations they represent, as well as the Child Sexual Abuse Spoke of A Bolder Way Forward, also called the SAFE Coalition. Kolene Anderson, UWLP Associate Director, gave updates on the entire movement of A Bolder Way Forward, including the foundation built this year, and plans for the future. Guests heard powerful keynotes from First Lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Maada Bio and James Eltroy Dixon. They each demonstrate resiliency and overcoming adversity. Dixon shared how we can dedicate our time to be a voice for the voiceless, and First Lady gave recommendations on how we can address this problem in Utah. We were honored to hear from Lacey Byrd and Caroline Ashton who shared their experiences and the incredible work they are doing to educate and inspire others.    We hope through the information shared and the intentional discussions, guests were empowered and motivated to continue in the fight against child sexual abuse. Thank you to all involved. Jake Neeley Laurieann Thorpe Chris Yadon, MPA Heather Stewart #bwfchildsexualabuse

🎉Milestone achieved! We’ve officially educated individuals in all 50 states on the signs of sex trafficking through our free OnWatch training! Since launching in 2020, we’ve been blown away by the positive impact. Communities are more engaged than ever, ready to take a stand against sex trafficking—and you can be a part of it! OnWatch teaches you to spot, report, and prevent sex trafficking where you live, work, and play. What makes it unique? The training is survivor-led and informed, meaning you hear the stories of true survivor experiences. If you’ve completed the OnWatch training before but it’s been a while, consider taking a refresher. And if you haven’t taken it yet, now is the perfect time to start learning about this crucial issue. Visit IAmOnWatch.org to start the free training. #IAmOnWatch #FreeTraining #EndHumanTrafficking

Nearly 50% of survivors of child sexual abuse face future victimization, often due to a lack of healing resources. Together with the Malouf Foundation, one of our founding organizations, we’re making great progress in the healing space. One of our programs, Rooms Restored, is dedicated to creating restorative spaces for children who have endured sexual abuse. The majority of child sexual abuse happens within a home, which is why we need to foster these safe environments. Through a safe, trauma-informed process, we provide room restorations to help reduce triggers and improve a child’s experience at home. The program also supports renovations in advocacy centers and therapy offices to create more welcoming and comfortable spaces. ✨The impact?✨100% of participants reported feeling safe and comfortable sleeping in their bedrooms again. Parents and recipients of Rooms Restored have also said that the program has been the biggest contributor to healing. When survivors have access to the right resources, the chances of revictimization reduces. Let’s come together to create a society where survivors are thriving and championed in their healing. 🤝 Learn more at phasealliance.org and https://lnkd.in/gMASJBaC.

A couple of months ago, we announced an exciting internship partnership with Bridgerland Technical College and BTECH Interior Design for our Rooms Restored program! 🎉 Since then, we’ve welcomed two amazing interns from Bridgerland Tech and one from Utah State University, and they’ve made a huge impact by helping us facilitate bedroom makeovers for children who have endured sexual abuse. Here’s what they have to say about working with Rooms Restored and the Malouf Foundation! ✨ Lydia "Creating spaces for healing has changed my perspective on what it means to be a designer. Healing starts from within and it’s been humbling to be a part of the beginning of an individual’s journey on that path." Rebekah "I love working with the people involved in this program and using my education for something good. It's inspiring to see people so determined and motivated to make a difference in people's lives."    Marisa  "My favorite part of working with Rooms Restored is being able to help kids and give back to people so they are reminded that there is still good in this world."

Navigating conversations about sex and sexual abuse with your child can feel daunting, but it’s beneficial for their safety and well-being. Begin by creating an open environment where your child feels safe to ask questions. Share age-appropriate information and remember, you are their primary source of information and trust. Communicate early and often, and admit when you are wrong or were not your best self, so the child feels safe to confide in you. By doing so, you can help reduce the risk of child sexual abuse and foster a strong, consistent pattern of communication that will help your child be prepared for the coming school year.
