As part of my doctoral studies, I explored how community cultural wealth—the richness of cultural resources that diverse communities possess—drives academic and professional growth. I was honored to bring this passion to life by moderating a panel at MANA de San Diego’s Latina Success Conference on Career Mobility and Unleashing the Power of Cultural Capital. A huge round of applause to our insightful panelists, Melissa Gonzalez and Fernanda Aceves from Community HousingWorks, for sharing their inspiring journeys and perspectives. Their stories reminded us of the strength and resilience that cultural capital brings to our professional lives, and the importance of creating pathways to support it. Grateful for spaces like MANA de San Diego that uplift our community and empower the next generation of Latina leaders. Fatima A. I’m grateful for MANA de San Diego for taking the initiative to transform communities by empowering Latinas to achieve upward mobility and a better quality of life. Earlier this month, I attended their 10-year reunion for the Latina Success Leadership program, which I completed in 2017. Reflecting on my growth since then, I realized how much it sparked my passion for leadership. Over the past 7 years, I’ve grown immensely—just like my hair! 😅 Back in 2017, I had a pixie cut, and now it's long. Remember, sometimes you need to make bold changes to foster new growth. Transformations require time, effort, and determination. It was also wonderful connecting with other graduates and learning about how California Coast Credit Union is giving back to our communities and how some of the graduates have made the leap and went from employee to entrepreneur. Regardless of the path you want - keep showing up! #LeadershipJourney #LatinaLeaders #CommunityEmpowerment #GrowthMindset #Transformation #WomenInLeadership #LatinaSuccess #Empowerment #CareerGrowth #KeepShowingUp
