A lot of people—even senior leaders—misunderstand how strategy works at different levels. This diagram should help. Strategy isn’t just a high-level, executive function. It happens at every level of execution. 🔹 Martech Strategy → Choosing the right tech isn’t just procurement—it’s a strategic decision that dictates what capabilities are possible. 🔹 Marketing Ops Strategy → Designing processes, standards, and workflows is strategic because it determines efficiency and impact. 🔹 GTM & Marketing Strategy → Positioning, messaging, and demand gen aren’t just about tactics—they’re about making deliberate choices with tradeoffs. Each layer informs the next. The tactics of the outer levels are the strategy of the inner levels. The biggest mistake? Assuming strategy is something that happens elsewhere. It’s not. Everyone—ICs, managers, execs—has a role to play in making the right choices, measuring results, and refining for impact. Does this resonate with you? Credit: Darrell Alfonso

10 Signs of Awesome Company Culture: 1. Your boss excitedly tells your team she's taking her son to football practice early on Wednesday afternoons. ➟ Leadership models work-life balance, showing it's okay to prioritise family without guilt. 2. You hear laughter, often. ➟ Laughter often signals the team feels safe to be themselves and take risks. 3. Innovation and failures are welcomed, not feared. ➟ Taking risks and learning from mistakes are seen as essential to growth, not punishable offences. 4. The company handbook is written in simple, plain language. ➟ Communication is clear, transparent and designed for everyone to understand. 5. Your colleagues come from different backgrounds and nationalities. ➟ A variety of perspectives help the team approach challenges in unique ways. 6. Meetings start on time. ➟ Respect for everyone’s time is a fundamental value. 7. Your kids are welcome to drop in at any time. ➟ Family-friendly policies make work and life feel integrated rather than in conflict. 8. You’re rarely the smartest person in a meeting. ➟ Talented, smart and capable people are viewed as assets, not threats. 9. Gossip is shut down quickly. ➟ A culture of respect ensures negativity is dealt with before it spreads. 10. You’re trusted to work from home. ➟ Trust and flexibility are prioritised over micromanagement. Company culture is not a sentence you write in your employee handbook. It's how your team behaves when no-one's looking. Your strategy might be perfect, but without the right culture, you're dead. What else would you add? ♻️ Agree? Repost to share. The BEST Email Marketing Presentation we’ve created. Last week, Jimmy and I did a live presentation with our friends at Omnisend, where we shared our 2025 Email Marketing Playbook. And it was AWESOME! We had 1,726 people register for it, and the feedback was amazing! I’ve been getting tons of DMs and emails from people asking for the recording. So, without further ado, I’m stoked to share that the recording is now LIVE: https://lnkd.in/gaZcMDZF Some of the information we shared: Deliverability as a MUST-have skill for the retention market: Specifics around list hygiene to TLD-specific playbooks Strategic Inventory for first email planning Education on RFM, RPS, and Velocity Scoring Thinking beyond just Open and Click metrics And even AI's role in email marketing… If you want to watch the recording, you can do it here: https://lnkd.in/gaZcMDZF P.S. If the link doesn’t take you to minute 26 of the video, go there, as that’s the start of our talk.

The Future of Marketing Agencies & Freelancers: Most marketing agencies, freelancers, and consultants are still in Phase 0 of AI adoption. This means they haven't begun implementing AI in their businesses at all. And for the minority of agencies, freelancers, and consultants who have, they're typically in Phase 1 of AI adoption: ✔️ Using AI to increase efficiency ✔️ Automating repetitive tasks ✔️ Generating content faster But Phase 2 is now here, which an even smaller subset of people have ventured into. And those who move fast will own the future of marketing services. The Shift: From just using AI for Efficiency to Deep Specialization The next wave of marketing service providers will sell AI-powered services as their primary offer. Like many marketers specialize in Meta Ads or Google Ads. Or like marketers who specialize in email marketing using Omnisend. Like this, there are significant opportunities in attaching yourself as the [ABC] expert on [XYZ] AI platform. Here are a few examples: 💡 Video specialists leveraging HeyGen for short & long-form AI-generated content 💡 Web developers building sites & apps with AI tools like Framer & Webflow 💡 SEO & content agencies using Jasper, Surfer & AI automation 💡 Paid ad agencies optimizing campaigns with AdCreative.ai & Pencil ✏️ The reality is that AI makes things easier for everyone… But many companies won’t do it themselves. Instead, they’ll pay experts who specialize in specific AI-powered solutions. I believe those who productize their AI-powered services will: ✅ Win early adoption ✅ Build authority as AI specialists ✅ Capture more profitable, scalable opportunities Do you agree or disagree?
The Battle Between Branding vs. Marketing It shouldn’t be a battle, because they need each other. I know this firsthand from my experience as both a Chief Marketing Officer and a Chief Branding Officer. Interestingly, I even change the title from Chief Brand Officer to Chief Branding Officer. Why? Because in my opinion, the CEO is always responsible for the corporate brand. The brand is the face of the business, and it’s a reflection of the company’s soul in values, purpose, identity and culture. Brand identity is who you are. The brand is people's perception of you. Branding is shaping the perception. Marketing is how you tell people who you are, what you offer and get them to engage. Without branding, marketing is hollow. Without marketing, branding is invisible. They’re two sides of the same coin, and we need them both to create meaningful impact. What’s your take? Do you think branding or marketing carries more weight? 🩷❤️ Credit: Anneli Hansson

The linear career path is dead. Strategic pivots are the new normal. Today’s workforce is more dynamic than ever. Gen-Z is leading the way. The average tenure per role? 1.7 years. 52% of US workers have considered a career change since the pandemic. Yet so many people feel stuck: - They worry about taking a step back. - They hesitate due to the sunk-cost fallacy. But strategic career pivots bring the best rewards: ➡️ Faster Salary Growth ➡️ Better Work-Life Balance ➡️ More Exciting Projects ➡️ Larger Network & New Opportunities ➡️ Stronger Skill Set & Career Resilience I’ve pivoted multiple times. Each brought new skills, more money & growth. Want To Pivot Strategically? Here’s Your 6 Step Framework: 1️⃣ Leverage Your Network For Referrals ↳ The job you want may not be advertised right now. ↳ Speak to people in the roles you’re aiming for. 2️⃣ Research Roles & Industries Thoroughly ↳ Study market trends, companies & in-demand skills. ↳ Align to the company strategy & values. 3️⃣ Upskill To Plug Skills Gaps ↳ Identify the gaps and fill it proactively. ↳ Take online courses, workshops or certifications. (BONUS: shadow people & start a side hustle to practise the skills) 4️⃣ Focus On Transferable Skills ↳ Identify cross-over strengths from past roles. ↳ i.e. leadership, problem-solving, adaptability. 5️⃣ Tell Your Unique Story ↳ Your skill stack makes you unique. ↳ Show how journey brings new perspective & value. 6️⃣ Focus On Impact & Results ↳ Companies don’t just hire for skills - they hire results. ↳ Frame your experience for outcomes & impact. Careers aren’t one-size-fits-all anymore. Don’t stay stuck. Your next move could be the best one yet. Strategic pivoting is the new norm What are your thoughts ⬇️ ♻️ Repost to share with others.
