With 95% of the gas used during a typical anesthetic procedure exhaled into the atmosphere, we're committed to finding innovative ways to reduce their environmental impacts. Following news of our partnership with SageTech Veterinary to pilot its industry-leading anaesthetic gas capture technology earlier this year, Linnaeus recently turned a routine neuter for Bailey into a pioneering step for environmental sustainability; read the full story at the link below. #ghgemissions #climateaction #sustainability #proudlyMars #ABetterWorldforPets
Meet Bailey, the most recent star of our sustainability show! ⭐️ We’re incredibly proud to announce that our primary care practice, Chapel House Veterinary Practice, is the first team to perform surgery on a pet as part of our cutting-edge anaesthetic gas capture pilot! 🐾💚 The lovely Bailey, a Poodle-Collie cross, is the first pet to benefit from this innovative project, which reduces the environmental impact of anaesthetic gases, thanks to trusted tech adapted from human healthcare. This pilot is a result of our new partnership with Mars Veterinary Health, Waltham Petcare Science Institute and SageTech Veterinary. Cross-industry collaboration is one of the most important tools we have when it comes to addressing the most pressing challenges facing our profession. Today, we're honored to host the 23rd annual Pet Healthcare Industry Summit, bringing industry leaders and students together to create a more sustainable future for veterinary medicine. As part of meaningful discussions centered on access to care, environmental sustainability, and veterinary education, we announced: - A grant to Shelters United to address a critical need for U.S. pet rescues and shelters. The investment will enable a free, RACE-approved veterinarian of record (VOR) training to increase access to veterinary care for adoptable pets and make it easier for veterinarians profession-wide (including our Associates) to give back to their local communities. - Our founding sponsorship of the Veterinary Sustainability Alliance (VSA) to enable the development of new tools to help veterinary professionals industry-wide practice sustainable medicine. Check out the link below for details on these announcements and other key topics covered at this year's event. https://lnkd.in/gyjv7gk6 #PHIS2024 #sustainability #veterinarysustainability #veterinaryeducation #accesstocare #ABetterWorldforPets #ProudlyMars
