Confusing "Candidate Flow" for "Quality Candidates?" Completing a CTO retained search I made calls to all the candidates we'd recruited to share the status of the search and that they weren't chosen as a Finalist. I was blown away by how many were not only surprised to get my call but truly impressed a Recruiter would follow up and "close the loop." I can't imagine doing business any other way. I understand it takes time and it can be challenging as no one likes getting bad news but this is the least we can and should do. I can't place everyone I work with but I can show them the respect they deserve for their investment of time in our process. Professional Recruiters need to start being "professional."
