We conclude our Who at DJS emPOWERs you? series with our inspiring Deputy Secretary of Support Services, Tiffani Johnson, MBA, who has been serving the Department for 12 years and has an impressive trajectory in financial roles. Deputy Johnson is also a US Army veteran with military leadership experience. Her efforts to support the agency's mission have had many transformational positive outcomes, including the Daily Record Empowering Women Award that she received in 2024. Thanks to her leadership, the Department can celebrate this recognition given to Maryland companies that demonstrate a commitment to a track record of recruiting, hiring, and promoting women, mentoring programs for women, efforts toward systemic change in society to combat gender inequality, elevating women to the board or C-suite among other factors. She brought me on to the Community Services team about a year and half ago and has really made me feel a part of the team and that my contributions matter. She is passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to the work that we do. She leads with confidence, ensuring that every project is executed with excellence. Her ability to command a room is inspiring, she speaks with authority and clarity, making sure everyone feels heard and valued. At the same time, she remains approachable and supportive, always willing to share her expertise and help others grow. Her leadership motivates me and serves as a great source of mentorship.
