Last week, we were thrilled to join community leaders, city and county officials, and our partners to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for the Williamsburg Sports and Events Center! MBP is providing construction management services for this exciting project, which will bring a 200,000-square-foot indoor sports complex to Williamsburg, VA. The facility will feature 12 basketball courts convertible into 24 volleyball courts and 36 pickleball courts, along with a climbing wall, ninja gym equipment, indoor conversion turf system, and more. What a conference! We just returned from the three-day Construction Industry Institute (CII) Annual Conference in San Diego. CII, based at The University of Texas at Austin, is the leading research and development platform for the capital projects industry. Bringing together global project industry leaders, CII focuses on creating and driving innovative tools and solutions through an academically grounded, disciplined approach. MBP was excited to be a part of the 2024 CII Annual Conference, where a unique collaboration of owners, contractors, and academics came together to engage in discussions on critical R&D topics such as streamlining project controls and defining a path for digital transformation. Yesterday afternoon, MBP joined the #ChesterfieldCounty community to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Falling Creek Middle School! This state-of-the-art facility is Chesterfield's first three-story middle school and the largest middle school in central Virginia. The ~240,000-square-foot school in the Dale District positions sixth, seventh, and eighth graders on separate floors. The new school features: 🧑🎓 1,800 student capacity 🏫 104 classrooms, including 15 science labs 🎭 1,000-seat auditorium 🏀 1,000-seat gymnasium 🥪 650-seat cafeteria MBP provided full-time construction management services for Falling Creek Middle School – the 12th school we've successfully delivered on time and within budget since 2016 as part of the New Schools program we're managing for Chesterfield County Public Schools. Yesterday afternoon, MBP joined the #Goochland community to celebrate the open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Goochland Elementary School! We couldn't be prouder of this project and the work of our collaborative team, which includes Goochland County Public Schools, Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc., Stantec, and Timmons Group. MBP provided construction managment services for this state-of-the-art school, which features learning spaces for 50 pre-kindergarten students, 650 kindergarten to fifth-grade students, 44 classrooms, collaboration areas, surface parking, fields, and playgrounds. The newly renovated Moyer Sports Complex is officially open!   MBP is proud to have played a key role in renovating the iconic James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, VA. Our team provided project inspection and management services for this project, and our team was there to capture drone footage of the ribbon-cutting ceremony last week.   The Moyer Sports Complex, closed since 2022, has reopened its gates with exciting new features:   ⚾ Brand new turf ballfields with MUSCO lighting 🛠️ Renovated dugouts and concessions 🚗 Expanded parking and sitework renovations 🎠 A new playground and pickleball courts 🏟️ Enhanced spectator stands with better coverage for shade   This state-of-the-art facility will continue to be a major economic driver for Salem, attracting both local and out-of-town guests. With an annual attendance of around 250,000 guests, the complex's future looks brighter than ever.   Congratulations to the City of Salem, Virginia and the Salem Department of Parks and Recreation.
