Mondays are for multifamily housing!   This 58,100 SF development features 49 affordable apartment units across four levels, plus a partial below-grade level with utility spaces. Built using Type 5A wood-framed 'stick-built' construction, the project also includes a cast-in-place concrete podium over the parking and loading dock areas.   34Fifty Apartments was designed and built to meet Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) standards, this energy-efficient building incorporates solar panels and geothermal heating for sustainable performance. #BuildingOurCommunity #Multifamily #Sustainability

2024 in the USVI: A Year to Remember In 2024, we focused on delivering the Arthur Richards PreK-8 School and engaging and connecting with the St. Croix community. From hosting student site tours that brought the next generation of builders into the fold to achieving major project milestones like finishing all vertical concrete pours and completing our first elevated pour, 2024 has been a year of progress and collaboration. The students, educators, community members, and skilled tradespeople who've joined us along the way have made these milestones all the more meaningful. Bard High School Early College DC Campus Featured in Architecture DC Magazine! The Winter 2024 issue highlights the transformation of the Brutalist-era Malcolm X Elementary School into a state-of-the-art learning facility. (Read the full announcement here: https://lnkd.in/eeUxMWW8) The 115,000-square-foot facility was delivered in two phases, with a modernization of the original structure alongside a new addition. Updates included bringing the entire building up to ADA standards, integrating cutting-edge instructional technology, and creating spaces that support 21st-century learning. The design features classrooms, discovery commons, small group rooms, resource spaces, and a black box theater to support Bard’s growing performing arts program. The facility also includes spaces for physical education and dining services, with a focus on #sustainability, targeting both #LEED Platinum and #NetZero Energy certifications. SK&A Structural Engineers is proud to have partnered with long-time client Perkins Eastman on this impactful project for DC Department of General Services. This year, MCN Build proudly partnered with the Foundation Pies Descalzos and the Cartagena Secretary of Education to build a brand-new digital library at a public school in Cartagena, Columbia!   Serving almost 1,000 students, the new Rudy's Digital Library offers thousands of books, laptops, iMac computers, drones, and tablets!
