About us
At MedScan3D our production techniques provide patient specific 3D printed model's with applications in medical device prototyping and testing, pre surgical planning and educational purposes. All models are segmented from patient specific data and they can be made in a variety of materials. At MedScan3D we work closely with the research and development teams to design clinically relevant models for prototyping, patient specific testing and ongoing device tests. These medical models will optimize your testing procedures at all stages of the device development. The models are geometrically designed to withstand rigorous laboratory and field use. For ongoing testing purposes we can provide silicone casted models from the 3D printed prototypes, which can be CAD adapted to suit any of your simulation models. Our anatomically accurate models effectively display your device in a clinically representative situation. This not only provides an invaluable testing tool for your device, but it also enhances credibility with your customers.

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham to discuss advancements in cancer training models. Speaking with leading surgeons in the field highlights how we can improve patient outcomes through innovative training approaches and strides. Leakage after cancer surgery remains a significant challenge, with rates ranging from 5% to 20%* depending on the procedure. Our discussions focused on cutting-edge surgical models that can better prepare junior doctors to manage these risks, ultimately improving patient outcomes. These models simulate real-life scenarios, allowing surgeons to perfect their techniques in a controlled environment. Looking forward to seeing these developments lead to even better patient care and outcomes. #HealthcareInnovation #MedicalTraining #CancerSurgery #QueensHospitalBirmingham

Yesterday, I had the honour of being part of a panel at Atlantic Technological University speaking to the School of Business about our entrepreneurial journeys. Thank you to Eilis McNulty and Orla Colleran for your invitation and warm welcome. I hope the students gained as much from the experience as I did. I certainly learned a lot from my fellow speakers Kevin Keane, Fergal O'Connor, Paddy Hogan 🚀, Sean Torpey and Siobhan Lawless. The key takeaways we discussed included the idea that every day is a learning opportunity. It’s important to embrace the challenging days and build resilience to grow from them. A significant part of our conversation focused on sustainability and how we, as companies, can adopt more sustainable production practices. I plan to write a blog post next week about our sustainability approach, so watch this space! #entrepeneurship #givingback #resilience #sustainability

When your alarm goes off at 4:30am, you can’t help but question your life choices 😅. But visiting Manchester always makes it worthwhile. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the incredible team at the Manchester Surgical Skills and Simulation Centre to explore how our models can enhance their current offerings. I also connected with the clinical biomedical and innovation team at the NHS to plan our next showcasing event at City Labs. Now on my way back I’m on the academic forum for greater Manchester NHS to understand more of their pain points. I’ll be back again in 2 weeks and looking forward to it! #expansion #growth #nhs

Today, I had the pleasure of returning to my former place of study, the Technological University of the Shannon, to share my journey since graduation with the current students. The warm welcome from both new and familiar lecturers, some of whom taught me nearly 20 years ago, was lovely. I cherished my time there and was thrilled to see how the courses have progressed. I look forward to more opportunities there to mentor women in STEM and guest lecture in the future. #womeninnSTEM #passingtheladder #sharedjourney

This morning, we had the opportunity to use CT and ultrasound to gather more information on our anatomical models. We closely examined 3D printed and silicone materials to understand their behavior, allowing us to compare them to actual vessels. A big thank you to Florian Stefanov, PhD for guiding this project. Stay tuned for more updates—we have videos to share! Cornelio Salvador Salinas #CTscanning #anatomicalmodels
