We are thankful the rain held off yesterday for Mercy's Annual Employee Picnic! This is always a favorite Mercy tradition where employees can get together outside the office (literally: outside, in Preston Gardens across from Mercy's downtown hospital) and enjoy a delicious picnic along with ice cream from Prigel Family Creamery for dessert!

Founded in 1874, Mercy Medical Center is a Catholic health care facility, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, as well as a teaching hospital for the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Located in downtown Baltimore at 345 St. Paul Place, Mercy is part of Mercy Health Services, Inc., which also includes Stella Maris, Central Maryland's largest long-term/geriatric care facility located in Timonium, MD, as well as a network of community health centers. In 2010 Mercy's campus expanded with the addition of new $400+ million, 20-story replacement hospital, The Mary Catherine Bunting Center, which features 15 state-of-the-art operating rooms and 196 private inpatient rooms. Support Services employees who are celebrating 15+ years of service at Mercy were recently honored at the annual Support Services Milestone Celebration! It was a night filled of joy and celebration. Department attendees included Housekeeping, Food Services, Security, Operator Services, Central Sterile, Maintenance, Patient Transport & Supply Chain. We simply could not successfully give excellent care to our patients without these teams and are grateful for their outstanding contributions to the Mercy family. Mercy hosted it's first ever “I’m A Mercy Baby” Shower of Giving as part of the We Are 150 Employee Engagement Initiative! This 2-day, volunteer-driven affair held the Friday and Saturday preceding Mother’s Day offered individuals born at Mercy the opportunity to “pay it forward” by supporting babies of the future. Mercy employees collected baby supplies for future Mercy babies as well as families at B’more for Healthy Babies, an innovative initiative to help reduce infant mortality in Baltimore City. A community-wide celebration and collection on behalf of Mercy babies was also held. Mercy partnered with M&T Bank for this special weekend. https://lnkd.in/eV38cabN
