Can you help us spread the word? 📣 MDHA will accept online-only applications for an elderly project-based voucher waiting list starting at noon Sept. 19 and continuing through 3 p.m. Sept. 26, 2024. In order to qualify for elderly housing, the head of household or spouse must be at least 62 years old. This PBV waiting list is NOT on a first-come, first-served basis, so as long as you apply during the waiting list period, you have a chance of being placed near the top of the waiting list. Say hello to the newly elected and re-elected #ResidentAssociation (RA) officers at #MDHA properties! 👋 Elections were held for RA officers at 22 MDHA properties this spring. In June, MDHA staff celebrated the officers with a dinner and installation ceremony. Davidson County Juvenile Court Judge Sheila Calloway attended to swear in the officers to their three-year terms. #ResidentAssociations are made up of MDHA residents who volunteer their time to organize events and resources for their neighbors and to advocate on their community’s behalf.

MDHA staff and members of Resident Associations (RA) at MDHA properties recently hosted a brunch to recognize this year's recipients of the Peaches Manning Scholarship. 2024 is a special year for the scholarship for two reasons: ✨ It's the 40th anniversary of the scholarship ❤️ Ms. Manning's great-grandson is among the recipients Peaches Manning was a longtime community liaison and MDHA employee. She worked with the RAs to establish the MDHA Scholarship Committee in 1985, and following her passing in 2015, the scholarship was renamed by the RA Presidents Council to honor Ms. Manning's legacy. The scholarship is funded by the Resident Associations at MDHA properties and is matched by MDHA. MDHA residents who are graduating from high school and pursuing a higher education apply for the scholarship and are selected by a committee. #PeachesManning #PeachesManningScholarship #Education #MDHA #ResidentAssociation #MDHAResidentAssociations

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another successful year of #NationalNightOut events at #MDHA properties all across Nashville and Davidson County! National Night Out Against Crime is an annual community-building campaign held on the first Tuesday in August to promote police-community partnerships. MDHA residents celebrated by getting together with neighbors and local law enforcement officers to fellowship while enjoying free food, entertainment and fun activities. The events also allowed MDHA staff to share important information about the resources and services available to residents through the MDHA Resident Services Department and our community partners. Thank you to the law enforcement agencies, partners, MDHA staff and Resident Associations at MDHA properties for planning such wonderful community events!
