Breaking News 🚨: The Michigan Court of Claims has issued a preliminary injunction blocking the enforcement of Michigan’s 24-hour mandatory delay, biased state-mandated counseling requirements, and the ban that prevents advanced practice clinicians from providing abortion care. This injunction means that starting tomorrow, Planned Parenthood of Michigan patients will no longer risk having to be turned away because they forgot to bring a time stamped form to their appointment! 🙌

"We must commit to actively participating in our communities and local governments, supporting and amplifying the voices of marginalized people, and working together to build a society that values equity, justice, and bodily autonomy for all. This work must be year-round, both on election years and off. This kind of deep-rooted community engagement cannot be accomplished by dropping your vote into the ballot box every couple of years and walking away." – Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan President & CEO Paula Thornton Greear

Today’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court means that mifepristone remains legal, accessible, and FDA-approved in Michigan. However, this attack on medication abortion could continue, as the case will be sent back down to federal district court judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, who has already allowed the states of Kansas, Missouri, and Idaho to intervene in the case. One thing is clear — our work is far from over. #Mifepristone #SCOTUS #Michigan
Today's ruling from SCOTUS means that mifepristone, one of two medications that make up "the abortion pill," remains legal, available, and FDA approved in Michigan. If you have an abortion appointment scheduled, you may keep your appointment. If you need an abortion, visit ppmi.org or call 800-230-PLAN. Full press release: https://bit.ly/3KJZFhC

With sexual and reproductive health care under constant attack, students at college campuses are fighting back to improve access to essentials like emergency contraception, condoms, dental dams, and pregnancy tests for their fellow students. After a long campaign by Wayne State students, administrators agreed to install sexual wellness machines in the fall, so we sat down with recent Wayne State University graduate Clara Keller to celebrate their hard work and learn about the initiative. #PPGen #GenAction #EmergencyContraception #PureMichigan #PlanB #WayneState

Thankful for community partners like The Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan! Together, we can make a difference in the health and wellness of our communities 💕👏.
Thank you to Kaylee from Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan for coming into The Center for a tour and to learn more about the work we do! (Pictured with Marnie Leavitt!) We are excited to stay connected and thrilled that Kaylee can now help spread the word about our affordable mental health counseling and other supportive services for youth and adults 16+. As she advocates for reproductive freedom in the community, Kaylee's knowledge of our services might help someone in need get connected to support while navigating some very difficult circumstances.
