Our "Back to School Basket of Miracles" Program Distributed Over 24,000 School Supplies to 394 of Our Families in Need!!! *** THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE!** On July 27, 2024, we hosted our annual "Back to School Basket of Miracles" event, bringing together almost 100 volunteers to fill 901 backpacks with over 24,000 school supplies and household essentials! Then volunteers helped us deliver the hand decorated boxes to 394 families across Southern California, Northern California, and Phoenix. We could not have done this without the community support from local businesses and organizations like yours! The event featured a well-organized assembly line and joyful atmosphere at an Irvine Company warehouse location donated space.  When the community comes together like this in such a big way for back to school to support these families, we are truly inspired. Our program provides essential school supplies and shows these families they are not alone during these difficult times. 🌊 Families Find Respite at Miracles for Kids 13th Annual Surf & Paddle Summer Camp 🌞 We are thrilled to share the success of our 13th Annual Surf & Paddle Summer Camp, which brought joy and respite to our families of critically ill children. Held at Newport Aquatic Center and Bolsa Chica State Beach, this event provided a much-needed break for these incredible families. Over three days, 73 kids and 24 families enjoyed surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, sandcastle building, and beach games. It was a time to simply relax and enjoy a fun beach day for our families to make unforgettable memories. 🗓️ Event Highlights: Paddleboarding and outrigger rowing at Newport Aquatic Center Surfing lessons at Bolsa Chica State Beach with Waves of Impact Delicious meals from The Stand and refreshing snacks from Perricone Farms Beach gear from Old Navy, thoughtful gifts from Manna Kadar Cosmetics, and sandcastle building with Sand Castle Kit Support from Marmar Sikka and Artemis volunteer group “Seeing the smiles on the faces of these children and their families reminds us why we do what we do,” said Autumn Strier, Co-Founder & CEO of Miracles for Kids. “This camp is about creating lasting memories and providing much-needed respite.” Thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers for making this event possible! What's Happening at The Stand this Month: Through August 31st, The Stand has partnered with Miracles for Kids to support local families in our community with severely ill children. 💙 We've created a limited edition "Cookies n' Dreams" Milkshake where we are giving back $2 from every shake sold. 🥤🍦 Additionally, we're taking donations in-store and online where we are matching the first $10k in donations. This weekend we hosted the first paddle event of our 13th Annual Miracles for Kids “Surf & Paddle” Summer Camp. This free event offers our families a much-needed physical and mental respite. Participants enjoyed a day of fun in the sun and in the water, out rigging, learning to paddle board, building sand castles, playing games on the beach, and enjoying lunch delivered from The Stand.
