Our Mission is Moving Yours.
About us
We believe social change happens at the edge of progress, by those willing to do more and settle less. Mission-driven organizations dedicate every resource to making change happen. Whether for-profit or non profit, they need to be sustainable and scalable in order to create substantial change. In order to support that change, we’ve learned there are four ways of increasing impact capacity: Great Model - SAIL, Compass, Fiscal Sponsorship Good Numbers - Accounting, CFO Services Great People - HR Support, Org Development, Executive Search, CSR programs Access to Capital - Seed The Future Impact Fund, Funder Connections, Grant Writing Support Through these four ways, we help mission-driven organizations leading social change build capacity for impact, creating substantial, sustainable, scalable change. It’s what we do every day.

Have you ever participated in a donation drive or program that felt entirely impersonal? 🫧 (How many times have you purchased travel-size shampoo bottles… and had no idea which organization they were actually going towards)? 🫧 ^These initiatives aren’t necessarily bad. But when organizations fail to create an experience to engage those willing to help, it can create a significant disconnect. 🙃 The University of San Diego’s partnership with Monarch School is a great example of what it looks like to engage the community with an initiative that aligns with its values. And Mission Edge’s Corporate Social Responsibility program spent a year helping them do so. Our goal: to ensure the collaboration between USD and Monarch was helpful and not burdensome. 💡 Read more about this year-long engagement here: ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/g5_n3G9s #sandiegobusiness #sandiego #businessfinance #blog

Amazing impact CSR Team Charlotte Vitak, Michelle Fujisaki-Thomas, Becca Branch, Roxy
Team Appreciation Post + Mission Edge June CSR progress update! This month has been FULL to say the least. 2 MAJOR project kickoffs and one MAJOR project close out. All within 30 days, two of which were this week. For context, four years ago this is the amount of work I would have accomplished in one calendar year - we're working on hyperspeed here, folks! Oh, and one HUGE difference: I've got a team around me. Michelle Fujisaki-Thomas, Becca Branch, and our intern Roxana Wolff truly make magic happen every day. These projects have been months in the making: First, University of San Diego's 75th Anniversary Volunteer Project Kick Off! This was no small undertaking, 1 U-Haul, 400 Fanny Packs, and nearly 1000 bottles of shampoo later, we hosted the first collection event of what will be a year-long service project benefiting Monarch School. Second, San Diego Gas & Electric A Sempra Energy Company's Intern Volunteering Project. 5 teams, 30+interns, 40-hour projects....also a logistical feat! This projects kicked off with an energy packed orientation on campus at SDGE this week. Lastly, Qualcomm's Social Impact Giving Initiative Showcase. 10 organizations, $50,000 grants, half a million dollars in funding to support orgs doing social impact work. The impact this makes on the orgs who receive funding makes me remember why I do this work (GETTING RESOURCES TO THOSE WHO NEED THEM MOST!!). Oh, also, we're working on a video project! Why not throw that in?! There will be more to come on all these projects. But for today, I am feeling grateful for my team - none of these would have gone as smoothly this month if is wasn't for the hard work you have been putting in over the past 6 months. You make it look easy! Lastly, thank you to our amazing clients who work hand in hand with us to make these projects a reality. Thank you for trusting us with this work and supporting us in getting it off the deck and into reality! Megan Vallone Marvin Ordonez Coreen Petti Russell Yost, APR Andrea Bell, MNA We appreciate you!

At every year-end, many nonprofits are crossing their fingers, relying on the hope that they will raise enough funding through the Season of Giving. While these “Season of Giving” donors have good intentions, we think there’s a better way to contribute to nonprofits that allows them to plan and execute their mission. When Joe Frangiosa Jr. – a military veteran and artist – retired, he started a passion project that was funded by his pension: telling and showing stories of U.S. nautical wartime history. Fast-forward several years, and a donor who believed in Joe’s work pledged a significant amount of money so he could expand his charitable cause. There was just one problem: Joe didn’t have the nonprofit status or infrastructure he needed to accept the donation. Read about how becoming fiscally sponsored under Mission Edge allowed Joe to: - Become a paid founder - Move his artwork to an 800-square-foot museum at Liberty Station in Point Loma. - Accept donations from each visitor https://lnkd.in/gzr4NTZY #fiscalsponsorship #smallbizfinance #sandiego #sandiegobusiness #blog

Here at the Impact Lab, we’re all about offering tangible tools that small business owners will *actually use.* Dr. Darcy White, owner of Source Connection Chiro & Light, walked away from our program with a comprehensive, personalized Excel spreadsheet that gives her crystal-clear insight into the financial health of her business. 🎯 Sometimes, Impact Lab entrepreneurs are dealing with “big” challenges (such as questioning the vitality of their business). Other times, they simply need an organized spreadsheet and a coach who tells them it’s going to be all right. We’re here for both, and everyone in between. Check out Dr. Darcy’s story here: ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/g-PHY4Vk #impactlab #blog #smallbizfinance #businesscoach #financecoach #sandiego
