This week Mission Housing was featured in City College of San Francisco's "Employer Spotlight," offering our current openings to eager students attending the virtual event. If you're interested in more information, find out more information here: https://lnkd.in/gZx6mqRb Great work, David!
Representing Mission Housing Development Corporation, I made my debut this afternoon at a City College of San Francisco "Employer Spotlight," a virtual event introducing employers to interested students looking for internships and job opportunities. The presentations from the other participating employers were informative, and my concluding breakout session with a few students created pleasant conversation and connection. Thank you to Tina Zhong & her colleagues for giving us this opportunity to engage with the college community. I'll look forward to stepping back into the "Spotlight" on Oct. 30. #affordablehousing #careers #CCSF #students

❗Congratulatory Post ❗ Congratulations to Joshua Arce on his appointment to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC)! For decades, Josh has been a tireless advocate for low-income communities of color and labor rights across the Bay Area. His founding of Brightline Institute, as well as being a representative of Local 261 and various regional labor groups for the past 15 years, proves Josh’s commitment to social equity is unmatched. His seven years as Board Chair of Mission Housing and reputation as a respected leader within the Latinx community are examples of the positive changes he will bring to the SFPUC. Congrats, Josh! #SanFrancisco #publicutilitiescomission #community

Mission Housing Development Corporation reposted this
The calm before the (pleasant) storm: My Mission Housing Development Corporation colleague Annette G. & I are pictured here well before eager students flooded today's packed Career & Internship Fair at San Francisco State University. Congrats to the SFSU Career & Leadership Development (CLD) team for hosting 70 employers at this well-organized and well-attended event. We had the pleasure of interacting with more than 60 students who stopped by our table and shared their diverse backgrounds and interests. #affordablehousing #careers

Today, Wells Fargo and Mission Housing began the construction of an interactive, educational play space at Valencia Gardens in San Francisco. The construction of the play/learn space, funded by a generous $25,000 grant from Wells Fargo to Valencia Gardens, is part of Wells Fargo’s annual “Welcome Home” initiative -- a campaign that brings together Wells Fargo employees and local nonprofits to volunteer and support affordable housing. A heartfelt thank you to the entire Wells Fargo team, Plant Construction Company, LP, Lorenzo Cordova, Musetta So, Next Tale Media, and Mission Housing staff members for creating a safe space for children to learn, grow, and play.

Thank you for your partnership, Western Alliance Bank. We value your organization's passion and dedication to affordable housing and families who call a Mission Housing unit "home."
For about 100 residents in San Francisco’s last remaining public housing sites, life is getting a lot more secure. Western Alliance Bank provided needed financing for Mission Housing Development Corporation — which works to create, preserve and stabilize affordable housing and supportive services across San Francisco — when the nonprofit sought to rehabilitate five buildings.

Full house. Full hearts. As we reflect on the fundraiser that was "Dawn of a Mission Renewed" and the amazing time we had with friends, advocates, supporters, sponsors and community, we are overwhelmed with gratitude. Rooted deep in the Mission Housing spirit is the understanding that everything we do, everything we accomplish, would not be possible without all of you. So thank you, Community, for being a part of our 53rd Anniversary Celebration. "Dawn of a Mission Renewed" Recap: Voiced by Kira Klapper.
