Attention my Component Manufacturer friends that have been asking about the MiTek Posi-Strut system, I am pleased to share an article that I have written in this months edition of the Component Manufacturing Advertiser (thanks Anna Stamm!). The article (starting on page 54) features an interview with Fred Johnson, who has been working with the Posi-Strut system for over 20 years. Fred discusses the system benefits, the market fit, and impact to production numbers. "After 24 years in the metal web market, we have proven time and again that we use 50% fewer man-hours with the Posi-Strut system than with wood web trusses." While this system is not a means to replace wood web trusses, manufacturers can use this innovative system to expand their offerings of open web products to the shallow depth market (9.5", 11 7/8", 12", 14", and 16") to better compete with i-joist and dimensional lumber today!
