  • Did you know - two #teamMnDOT projects received regional awards from the Mid America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO)! - "Regional Mobility-as-a-Service" was recognized for best of use of technology and innovation (small project). This project improves access to transportation in rural areas by allowing 13 partner agencies to offer their services through single platform. More than 10,000 rural residents use it each month. "Utilizing the Corridor Approach for Blowing Snow Control" was honored in the operations excellence, small project category. The project created snow fences and redesigned roads and ditches in areas around the Twin Cities. Crashes in these areas fell by 30 percent during the 2018-2019 winter, and MnDOT also saved $100,000 in operational and maintenance costs. These two projects, along with the honor award-winners from MAASTO and other regions, are now in contention to be one of the 12 finalists, to be announced later this month, for the national-level awards.
