A couple of week in review photos with Money Magnets Club: We worked some great kids at Freedom Communities #MomsMovingForward program. We had a facilitator check in with our team and a little work and a little whimsy is good for everyone!! We had a super time with an energetic group of kids at ARK night at Stratford Richardson YMCA and had a great new volunteer work with us. Melinda Bell led a session with C4 Counseling for our board on understanding trauma and how the brain responds. Our board chair Rashaan Peek wrote a children’s book of affirmations…so much talent for one person!

A community that promotes financial literacy & entrepreneurship among elementary kids by exposure, education & resources
About us
Money Magnets Club provides a communal approach to developmentally appropriate learning about financial literacy and entrepreneurship for kids 5-11 years old. We provide material resources and seek to learn from and cater to kids in geographic areas that have been underinvested in, like Charlotte's West side (West Boulevard, Freedom Drive and Wilkinson Boulevard corridors), that has so much vitality and ingenuity. We offer seasonal program sessions that focus on learning concepts, meeting entrepreneurs that have a variety of business experiences, ideating, planning, and pitching to access start up capital to try out a business idea.

Are you familiar with the vehicle for maximizing charitable contributions called a Donor Advised Fund (DAF)? In any case, the philanthropic community is drawing attention to the opportunity to grow funds you might have available to invest in important charitable causes you believe in, and to take action to allocate those funds to support that work in a sustainable way before the year’s end. Today is DAF day! You can securely donate via your DAF to Money Magnets Club on our website plug in for Fidelity Charitable®, Charles Schwab Charitable or BNY Wealth. https://lnkd.in/eABbx8km #DAFDay2024 #DAFDay #CharitableGiving #philanthropy #sustainablegiving

Even with the rain earlier in the week, a beautiful day unfolded. Part of the Money Magnets Club team and our Board Chair/President got to spend an engaging time with a group of Grant Thornton (US) employees at their Charlotte, NC offices. And what an occasion it was…Grant Thornton presented the team with a substantial investment from individual donations and unrestricted grant dollars to support our mission to encourage entrepreneurship and financial literacy among elementary schoolers! 👏🏽👏🏼🎉🥳👏🏾👏🏿 We did the math and that means 1,200 kidpreneurs-in-training can be supported and rewarded with investments for completing our program with that sum. While we’ve got our work cut out for us, we’re up for the challenge.😎 Thanks to the SHARE Charlotte team for sharing time with us for this auspicious occasion, and helping folks connected to meaningful causes in the community. Thanks to Laura, Elise, Russ, Annette, and all of those who had a hand in making the day possible 🙏 📸 Skyhaus Media
