Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries recently celebrated the grand reopening of its store in Central Square, Cambridge, after extensive renovations. Goodwill has operated a store in Cambridge for more than 100 years and is deeply grateful for the community’s longstanding support. Goodwill operates 14 stores across Massachusetts that advance its mission to help individuals with barriers to self-sufficiency to achieve independence and dignity through work. Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries' mission is help individuals with barriers to self-sufficiency to achieve independence and dignity through work. Not charity, but a chance. For more than 125 years, Goodwill has provided job training programs and partnered with the business community to provide work opportunities for individuals with barriers to self-sufficiency. Goodwill operates MassHire Boston Career Center, a one-stop career center that offers universal access to a broad range of services for job seekers. The Goodwill Stores provide jobs and on-the-job training opportunities while they offer quality, low-cost goods to individuals and families looking for value. Goodwill has been named a Top 100 Woman-Led Business by the Boston Globe and the Commonwealth Institute every year since 2014. Goodwill has been awarded the John Gould Award for Education and Workforce Development by the Associated Industries of Massachusetts. and the Innovations in Public Safety Award from the Massachusetts Department of Correction. The Goodwill Stores have been recognized in many readers' polls, including the Weekly Dig, Scout Magazine, Wicked Local, as well as by the Retailers Association of Massachusetts. Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries, a community-based nonprofit, recently held a grand opening for its new, state-of-the-art North Shore Job Training Center in Beverly, Massachusetts. Guests included Hannah Bowen Beverly City Councilor at Large, Goodwill Board members, Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services staff, and friends of Goodwill. The center marks a new chapter in Goodwill’s long history of providing job training and employment services for individuals with disabilities on the North Shore.
