Thank you Housing and Community Development Network of New Jersey for creating an incredible 2024 Community Development Conference! We were honored to take part in the event and benefitted from the learning opportunities and engagement with other dedicated housing officials, organizations and advocates from across the state. Our team, including CEO Liz DeCoursey, Barbara Dunn Director of Advocacy and Global Engagement, Loretta Rivers, Director of Family Services and Mark Odenwelder, VP of Home Repair and Neighborhood Revitalization are eager to share what they learned and continue to build more affordable housing for individuals and families in New Jersey.
#NJ's continued approach to housing affordability must include a plan for more revenue for housing security and stability programs. As the Affordable Housing Trust Fund is the major, dedicated source of funding for affordable home creation in New Jersey, the state must grow construction and rehab resources to fill the need for more affordable homes, as well as generate new revenue for eviction prevention. Learn from Network staff and budget and housing experts on how the state can better resource affordable home production, promote first-time/first-generation homeownership, curb unconscionable rent increases and disincentivize evictions to make sure we can #HouseNJ! It's all happening in less than 2 weeks at #Under1RoofNJ.
