Tis the Season!! Thank you for this wonderful story Daphne. 🤗
Coming from a background in women’s clothing retail, I know how a great outfit or the perfect fit on a pair of jeans can change a person’s perspective. If you talk to any of my former colleagues at maurices they’ll have a ton of stories about customers who regained confidence in a fitting room. Its a fantastic thing to be a part of. But that still didn’t prepare me for my first back-to-school rental season. Every year Music & Arts becomes the spot for kids getting ready for the new school year. We have decades-long relationships with our band and orchestra directors at the schools in our areas making us the destination of choice for parents and kids alike. As school approaches, you start to see more and more eager young faces coming through the doors. Yesterday I got to see a little boy’s hands absolutely tremble as he reached for his clarinet for the first time and his mom took all the photos while my associate Jason shared a couple best practices with him. It was amazing. And the thing is? It happens every single day at Music & Arts. It’s what I appreciate about the people I work with more than anything else. They truly love making music makers. And they get what a big deal that moment is. It’s not just a rental going out the door. It’s momentous for that child and parent and we realize how lucky we are to be part of that. These moments in our stores matter. This week I heard what may be my favorite example showing just how much. I spent some time with my Webster team and our associate Nick shared a story about getting his first trumpet when he was a little kid. He still remembers the man who sold it to him… his Store Manager John. :) These are the lifelong relationships forged in our stores and I cannot wait to see more of them blossom every time I walk through Music & Arts doors. Here’s to a great rental season and making those memorable moments for all the music makers. *photo is Music & Arts Webster TX amazing band and orchestra wall
