We are thrilled to share an update on the Springfield Town Center project in Springfield, VA—marking the first new residential units since 2001! This unique project features a residential building, connected by a preexisting garage retrofitted to meet new needs. Extensive coordination was required to match the building elevations with the existing garage and the adjacent steel pedestrian bridge. Currently under construction, the residential apartment building will consist of three levels of post-tensioned concrete and five levels of wood framing, ultimately providing 439 residential units across just over 465,000 ft². Future residents will also enjoy a pool and an arbor courtyard connected by a pass-through loggia. Washington Building Congress (WBC) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Northern Virginia Chapter helped celebrate the conclusion of Women in Construction Week by recognizing a distinguished group of women that shared their career experiences and insights. Panelists provided different perspectives on various aspects of the industry and prompted attendees to utilize this strong network of industry professionals.
