The University of Virginia (UVA) School of Data Science project has been named Gilbane Building Company's 2025 Builder of the Year! 🏆 This prestigious award, named in honor of legendary builder Iver Johnson, celebrates excellence in project management and outstanding on-site team performance. UVA’s cutting-edge School of Data Science building, completed in 2024, embodies innovation and collaboration. Designed by Hopkins Architects, VMDO Architects, and the University’s Office of the Architect, this four-story, 61,000 SF building features sustainable design, open hallways, research and meeting areas, and adaptive classrooms. PROJECT NEWS! Get ready, Houston!  Gilbane Building Company and Flintco, LLC have formed a joint venture to build the first phase of the Convention District Transformation Project, announced by Houston Mayor John Whitmire. This incredible project will transform downtown Houston, bringing new energy and vitality and bolstering the city’s position as a global hub for sports, entertainment, and tourism. For nearly 40 years, the iconic George R. Brown Convention Center has been at the heart of the city’s convention and events landscape. This first phase of the project will expand the current facility to include 700,000 SF of multi-use space.
