This first month after the Kick-off of MYRTUS HE project has already been really productive. 👥 We attended the #ECS2024 Brokerage event, organized by Inside Industry Association, EPoSS Association and AENEAS Association, which was a great #opportunity to exchange ideas and create #synergies. 🏅 We were one of the winners of the 2024 RIAs Challenge, organised by Inside Industry Association as Strategic Liaisons Task Force leader of the EUCloudEdgeIoT initiative, and we received custom-made reward! 🗣 We were presented at the "Launch Event: showcasing the future of innovation in AI, Data, and Robotics" organized by Adra - AI-Data-Robotics-Association, AI-on-Demand Platform and the European Commission.

#HiPEACinfo73 is out with many interesting articles and interviews. It includes our contribution about the need for hardware adaptivity to exploit NN tradeoffs. Francesca Palumbo Claudio Rubattu MYRTUS EU
#HiPEACinfo73 is out now! 👉 https://lnkd.in/gpUpEUV This issue focuses on #hardware, and has some fantastic contributions, including: 🧠 Processing in memory: what's happened so far, and where do we go from here? Get insights from our interview with the inimitable Onur Mutlu; learn about the latest in programming support from Asif Ali Khan and Jeronimo Castrillon; and take a look at #3D #RRAM-logic design for future #InMemory computing platforms, My-CUBE, presented by Joel Minguet Lopez and Francois Andrieu. 🇪🇺 Inventing, ourselves: what's the status of European hardware? Take a look at our interview with Roger Espasa, who describes the 'open-core surgery' at Semidynamics and the path to commercialization aided by projects such as European Processor Initiative. Read all about IP provider Racyics, learn about the new spinoff roofline, and find out how Moritz Scherer's PhD led to the launch of https://lnkd.in/dYuD_Zm9. Get up to date on the latest calls from the Chips Joint Undertaking Joint Undertaking, and find out how EuPilot: Pilot using Independent Local & Open Technologies and Barcelona Supercomputing Center (with the #BarcelonaZettascaleLab) are making strides towards made-in-Europe platforms. Discover how QUADRATURE - Scalable Multi-chip Quantum Computing Architectures and Neuropuls are scaling quantum systems and accelerating with photonics, respectively. Check out the latest #RISCV activities in Europe, with Teresa Cervero García and Christian FABRE, read about the new Cambridge Computer Architecture Research Centre with Timothy Jones, and find out how #OpenSource hardware lowers the barriers to entry and helps fuel innovation in a great interview with Frank Kagan Gurkaynak. 🔎 Searching for the optimal design? HiPEAC's got your back. Jaume Abella and Francisco J. Cazorla explain how their group at BSC helps developers identify the best configuration for #HPC in safety-critical settings. Alexander Lehnert, Ralf Müller and Marc Reichenbach explain how their 'computation coding' approach revolutionizes neural-network (NN) representation for optimal hardware design, while Francesco Ratto, Claudio Rubattu and Francesca Palumbo make the case for runtime-adaptive hardware to exploit NN tradeoffs. Giuliano Sisto argues that hardware-software co-design can avoid the 'hardware lottery', while Samuel Coward and Jianyi Cheng propose an 'equality saturation' approach to automatically discover the best hardware design for a given purpose. If you're an early career researcher in need of resources find out what Arm has to offer (article by Kieran Hejmadi), what AMD can do for you (article by Cathal McCabe) and what training and support RISC-V International has available (with Megan Lehn). Plus an interview with Pete Beckman and Rajesh Sankaran on the National Science Foundation (NSF) Sage project and EU-US collaboration in #DiscoverUS, how #HiPEACJobs can turbocharge your career and more.
