988 is saving lives— but unfortunately many communities still lack the full crisis care system needed to support it. Without crisis response teams and stabilization options, too many people in crisis still rely on emergency rooms, law enforcement, or face barriers to getting help. In a new STAT article, NAMI’s Chief Advocacy Officer, Hannah Wesolowski, highlights the urgent need to build a full system of care: “988 isn’t going to reach its full potential until there’s a full system of crisis services in every single community.” We must invest in crisis services so everyone who contacts 988 can get the support they need and deserve. 📖 Read more: #ReimagineCrisis #988Lifeline

Today, NAMI and the Legal Action Center led a letter from mental health groups to Congress urging them to protect Medicaid. Medicaid is the single largest payer of mental health and substance use care. In the midst of our nation’s ongoing mental health crisis, we cannot weaken people’s access to life-saving services. ✨ Honored and Grateful ✨ I’m beyond proud and humbled to share that I’ve been named to the Top Doctors list and am featured on the cover of this month’s Boston Magazine. This recognition is not just a personal milestone, but a testament to the incredible support, mentorship, and collaboration I’ve been fortunate to experience throughout my career. To my colleagues: Thank you for inspiring me every day. Your dedication, brilliance, and commitment to the field of medicine make our mission possible and remind me why I love what I do. To Boston Medical Center: Being part of a hospital that’s home to so many outstanding physicians and healthcare professionals is an honor in itself. Together, we work toward a shared purpose: to provide the best care, advance medical knowledge, and support the well-being of our community. This achievement wouldn’t be possible without the patients who entrust us with their care and the teams who make our work possible. Here’s to continuing to grow, learn, and contribute to a field that I’m deeply passionate about. #TopDoctors #BostonMagazine #Gratitude #HealthcareExcellence #Teamwork
