The voice for the nation's radio and television broadcasters.
About us
The National Association of Broadcasters is the voice for the nation’s radio and television broadcasters. As the premier trade association for broadcasters, NAB advances the interests of our members in federal government, industry and public affairs; improves the quality and profitability of broadcasting; encourages content and technology innovation; and spotlights the important and unique ways stations serve their communities. NAB delivers value to our members through advocacy, education and innovation. Advocacy NAB is the chief advocate of broadcasters in our nation’s capital, ensuring policymakers are informed on the issues that impact the broadcasting industry. The association relies on the grassroots strength of its television and radio members and state broadcast associations. Broadcasters recognize the importance of educating Congress, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the administration on how legislation and regulations affect their business, and more importantly, the listening and viewing public. Innovation Whether it’s the new possibilities created by mobile digital television or FM-enabled mobile devices, NAB is helping broadcasters seize opportunities in the digital age. Advances in technology are giving broadcasters opportunities to find better, more innovative ways to deliver the high-quality content and services that local communities expect and deserve. Education From providing free public service materials to assist in implementing locally focused community service initiatives, to offering a number of programs through the NAB Education Foundation to support diversity, leadership and professional development, NAB offers broadcasters a variety of programs to help them grow in their careers, promote diversity in the workplace and strengthen their businesses.

It was great to be in Santa Fe this week to meet with our western state broadcast partners and local stations from across New Mexico at the Western NASBA Regional Meeting. Thank you to Wendy Paulson, president of NASBA and the Minnesota Broadcasters Association, for joining me for a terrific fireside chat. I also appreciate Sen. Ben Ray Luján and FCC Commissioner Anna M. Gomez joining us and offering their perspectives on our key issues; as well as the insights shared by industry leaders including Michael J. Hayes, Caroline Beasley, and Ginny Hubbard. The highlight was honoring Paula Maes for her decades of exceptional leadership of the New Mexico Broadcasters Association at her retirement celebration on Wednesday night. I am grateful to Paula and the other outgoing state association presidents in attendance, Christine Merritt and Joe Berry, for their years of service and impact on our industry. State broadcast associations play an indispensable role in all the work we do at NAB and no one has done it better than these three leaders. You will be missed!
