Today, we celebrate the power of data and statistics in driving scientific discovery, innovation, and informed decision-making across the globe. From understanding complex patterns in nature to addressing global challenges like climate change and public health, statistics are at the heart of progress. At NSTMF, we honor the incredible contributions of statisticians and data scientists like Calyampudi R. Rao, who transformed the world. President George W. Bush honored Dr. Rao with the National Medal of Science for his pioneering contributions to the foundations of statistical theory and multivariate statistical methodology and their applications, enriching the physical, biological, mathematical, economic, and engineering sciences. Statistics help us shape better futures by providing insights that fuel innovation, guide public policy, and improve our everyday lives. Let’s recognize the importance of data in STEM and inspire the next generation to explore the world of statistics and its limitless possibilities! 📈 Learn more about Dr. Rao here: https://lnkd.in/ewSxMyxw Check out this video we did about him for our National Medals Gala in the early 00s. #WorldStatisticsDay #STEM #DataScience #Statistics #Innovation #NSTMF #STEMLeadership
