Aviation Engineering Senior at PolyU | Engineering Intern @Cathay Pacific | I help startups increase productivity by 2x.

I'm proud to share that I participated in the 2024 AIAA Design, Build, and Fly Competition with Team AEOLUS PolyU. We came 2nd in Asia and 18th Worldwide! As a student working on structural analysis, I enthusiastically embraced the challenges of Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Conducting various structural integrity tests through FEA to optimize our aircraft design helped improve our global ranking. Our innovative solutions combined with a meticulous approach to redesigning paid off. None of this would have been possible without an incredible team. Shoutout to my team leader Adrian Tong for his dedication and pushing me to learn more. From designing and manufacturing the aircraft to piloting it with precision - it was truly a group effort. While competing internationally brings pressure, seeing the full team's dedication translate to positive results was incredibly rewarding. Going from 61st to 18th out of 108 teams in the competition proves that even small incremental improvements, when combined, can make a big impact. 🚀 For any engineering students or professionals considering entering a design competition - leap! The hands-on experience of conceptualizing, building, iterating, and problem-solving as a team is invaluable.
