By traditional measures, recovery from the recession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has been a resounding success. Poll after poll, however, suggests that our economy does not feel strong for millions of people across the country—particularly for women.

"If the anti-abortion movement truly wanted to support families, they would advocate for policies that alleviate financial burdens, particularly those that come with being pregnant and raising children. However, instead of advocating for practical policies that would allow people to thrive, anti-abortion lawmakers focus on 'alternatives to abortion' programming that is riddled with misinformation about sexual and reproductive health care, restricting access to financial and health care assistance, and promoting family structures that reinforce traditional gender norms." As we wrap up Latinx Heritage Month, we're celebrating that 23% of center-based and 16% of home-based early educators are Latina. They are a critical part of the workforce, yet they face pay inequities, credential barriers, and lack of support. It’s time for policy reforms that ensure fair wages, recognize linguistic skills, and provide resources for a more equitable early childhood education system for all educators but especially Latina providers. A new report by Senator Whitehouse reveals what we already knew to be true: the FBI investigation into the credible allegations against Brett Kavanaugh was a limited and performative act of political theater, stifled by former president Trump. The lawlessness of the former administration and the willful silence of the FBI and many senators should offend every single person in this country. We demand that a complete, comprehensive, and independent investigation be conducted by the Department of Justice, and its findings be met with measures of accountability. Survivors—and our democracy—are owed that. https://lnkd.in/eEZVTqkA
