At Neighborcare Health, we believe everyone deserves a place to call their health care home, where a team of medical, dental and mental health professionals work in collaboration with each patient to develop a personal health improvement plan. We are the largest provider of primary medical, dental and behavioral health care services in the Seattle area serving low-income and uninsured families and individuals, seniors on fixed incomes, immigrants, and the homeless. Each year we care for about 60,000 patients at our nearly 30 non-profit medical, dental and school-based clinics. We ask everyone to pay what they can, but no one is turned away due to inability to pay. Our clinics are located in neighborhoods where health disparities are the greatest, and our care teams, who speak over 55 languages and dialects, are as diverse as our patients. No matter who you are, or where you come from, regardless of your insurance, income or immigration status, you are welcome at Neighborcare Health.

August 31 is International Overdose Awareness Day, a day to remember without stigma those we've lost and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind. We can all help to #EndOverdose. Since 2019, the number of overdose deaths has increased exponentially in King County. The most disproportionately impacted communities in King County are: • People experiencing homelessness and people living in temporary or supportive housing • American Indian and Alaskan Native (non-Hispanic) and Black (non-Hispanic) residents • Communities located in Seattle and South King County. Opioid overdose is life-threatening and requires immediate emergency attention. Recognizing the signs of opioid overdose is essential to saving lives. All Neighborcare Health clinics will be closed on Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day. Please call 206-548-5710 for assistance. The Pacific Tower (pictured) houses a large part of Neighborcare Health's administration, plus a dental clinic and other partners in health care, like Seattle Central College's health care programs. It opened in the 1930s as a U.S. Public Health Service hospital, and has recently been rededicated to public service after a number of years as an Amazon space. Happy Women's Equality Day! On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment granting women the vote was finally ratified, after decades of movement work, protests, and demonstrations. Celebrating women and their equality is especially important in the medical field because according to census.gov, as of 2019 women hold 76% of all healthcare jobs. Without the advocacy of women over the past 100 years, the healthcare field would likely look very different today. Thank you to all the women who have paved the way! #WomensEqualityDay #19thAmendment #ValueCHCs #NeighborcareHealth #Neighborcare #Seattle #PugetSound #HealthcareForAll #HealthEquity #CHC #CommunityAction #SeattleNonProfit
Recently, Alexa Cabrera-Martinez, who is a primary care social worker at our Meridian clinic, was shadowed by a UW medical student exploring how phone apps might be useful in perinatal mental health care. It gives us a perfect opportunity to celebrate how we’re partnering to build a pipeline of health equity leaders who center the needs of communities most impacted by health inequities. #ValueCHCs #NeighborcareHealth #Neighborcare #Seattle #PugetSound #HealthcareForAll #HealthEquity #CHC #CommunityAction #SeattleNonProfit

This past Friday, the members of our development team volunteered at Pike Place Market Foundation's annual Sunset Supper. They had a chance to serve many of the Pike Place Market vendors and partners, and even got to see signage for the Pike Place clinic in action! It is a joy to be in community with our partners at Pike Place Foundation, so we are always glad to have an opportunity to celebrate and support their work. #ValueCHCs #NeighborcareHealth #Neighborcare #Seattle #PugetSound #HealthcareForAll #HealthEquity #CHC #CommunityAction #SeattleNonProfit
We were honored to host Senator Maria Cantwell's legislative aide Astor Tellman at our Rainier Beach clinic this past Friday! Astor chatted with Neighborcare team members Chief of Community Engagement Candace Jackson, CEO Rashad A. Collins, and Rainier Beach Clinic Administrator Maureen Lara about the importance of advocating for ongoing federal financial support of CHCs, which are the nation's largest primary care provider. They talked about continuing to support the 340B drug pricing program to ensure transparency and accountability that leads to ongoing benefit for CHCs like Neighborcare who leverage these funds to support critical programs like our own midwifery program. Thank you so much to Astor for making the trip and for the lovely compliment about how impressive it was that so many services are co-located at Rainier Beach! Looking forward to continued collaboration with Senator Cantwell's office on crucial funding and support. #ValueCHCs #NeighborcareHealth #Neighborcare #Seattle #PugetSound #HealthcareForAll #HealthEquity #CHC #CommunityAction #SeattleNonProfit
