Exciting highlights from the NetHope Global Summit in Washington, DC! We had an incredible experience connecting with leaders and innovators in the nonprofit sector. A key moment was Avanade EME Nonprofit Industry Lead Ralf van den Ham's discussion on Digital Agriculture with Khuloud Odeh, PhD and Ahmad AL-MOUSLY from CGIAR. Their session, “Cultivating the Future,” emphasized the urgent need for a technology-driven approach to regenerative agriculture. Almin Surani, Avanade’s Global Nonprofit Digital Transformation Lead and Chris McClean, our Global Digital Ethics Lead, led a thought-provoking workshop on Responsible AI Innovation, stressing the importance of building AI that reflects our values, recognizing the reality of data bias, and harnessing AI’s potential as a great equalizer. Additionally, Microsoft’s session on “Harnessing AI for Social Good” showcased practical AI applications for nonprofits and their commitment to security and tailored solutions through partnership. Key takeaways from the summit included: 🔸 The promise of new technologies and the critical need for sustained digital transformation to empower NGOs. 🔸The vital role of innovation in tackling emerging challenges and the importance of digital inclusion as a universal right. 🔸Addressing cybersecurity threats and developing adaptive strategies to combat climate change impacts. Thanks to all our clients who joined us for dinner! We loved engaging in meaningful conversations, fostering relationships, and sharing insights on our transformative journeys. The future is bright for tech and social impact. #NetHopeSummit | #DigitalTransformation | #SocialImpact | #AIForGood | #AvanadeDoWhatMatters | Tina Senior | Heba Ramzy | Innes Grant | Dave Hisler | Natalie W. | Srishti Verma

“Successfully implementing technology projects and making a real impact on people’s lives requires a deeper understanding of on-the-ground realities, which often demands more time and resources than anticipated. Without this insight, it’s challenging to design truly meaningful technology solutions. In my experience, as we look to the future and envision new technologies for climate and other areas, we must prepare to invest not only in the technology itself but also in essential elements like cultural awareness, capacity building, and a comprehensive mix of other crucial factors.” - Nama Budhathoki, Regional Director, Asia-Pacific, Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team during the #NetHopeSummit2024. Let’s champion a world where digital access is a right, not a privilege. Though the 2024 NetHope Global Summit has ended, there are still many ways to engage with NetHope’s mission. The NetHope Community can reconnect at Working Group Meetings, Chapter Meetings, and through our collaborative efforts throughout the year. Plus the countdown to the 2025 NetHope Global Summit has already begun! Learn more about the 2025 Summit here: https://lnkd.in/eyTYdii3   To find out how you can get involved with NetHope, visit:
