In collaborating with other EU-funded initiatives, it will also develop frameworks, toolkits and solutions to address climate change #challenges with a long-term impact. 🤔 What is the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change? 🤔 To contribute to the implementation of the EU Adaptation Strategy, the European Commission launched the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. The EU Mission focuses on supporting the EU regions, cities and local authorities to better understand the climate risks they are and will be confronted with in the future. In addition, it aims to develop their pathways to be better prepared and cope with the changing climate, and to test and deploy on the ground innovation solutions needed to build resilience. The EU Mission will support more than 150 European regions and communities to become climate resilient by 2030, by supporting research and innovation, sharing knowledge and best practices, engaging citizens in the development of the adaptation policy. 🤔 What is the EU Adaptation Strategy? 🤔 In 2021, the European Commission adopted the EU Adaptation Strategy. It draws how the European Union can adapt to the unavoidable impacts of #climatechange and become climate resilient by 2050. By pushing the frontiers of knowledge with more and better knowledge, the adaptation must be smarter, faster, more systemic and must step up international action for climate #resilience, through stronger global engagement and exchanges. The strategy aims also to support the further development and implementation of adaptation plans at all levels of #governance with three cross-cutting priorities: integrating #adaptation into macro-fiscal #policy, nature-based solutions for adaptation, and local adaptation action. NeuroClima aims to fully support the EU Adaptation Strategy by developing frameworks, toolkits, recommendations, and promoting activities to address this crucial issue through #participatory problem-solving approaches, and by fostering citizens’ climate literacy. 🌟 Workshop Success! 🌟 👉 We are excited to share that TRUENIQUE and ITML successfully co-organized a workshop on User Stories within the NeuroClima Horizon-funded project. This workshop brought together our incredible consortium of 15 partners from universities, research institutes, and companies, all united in our mission towards climate resilience. 🎉 NEUROCLIMA is a three-year Research and Innovation Action funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe program. Our focus is on fostering innovation and excellence through systemic transformations and citizen engagement. 🎯This workshop marked a significant step towards establishing a "nervous system" that connects policymakers, public institutions, and citizens through truly mixed Human-AI decision support. On May 23rd and 24th partners of our Horizon, NeuroClima Project gathered in Lisbon for a pivotal two-day meeting hosted by Professor Maria José Roxo at NOVA FCSH. This gathering was a fantastic opportunity to brainstorm, discuss challenges and opportunities, and solidify our strong partnership. The meeting was crucial for planning our next steps and task allocation, ensuring we stay on track to achieve our ambitious objectives. Being part of this impactful project is truly rewarding, as we strive to promote and support the EU adaptation strategy to climate change by raising citizen awareness. #CATAA organizou reunião oficial do projeto Horizonte Europa NEUROCLIMA em Portugal 🇵🇹 Nos dias 23 e 24 de maio, os parceiros do projeto Europeu #NeuroClima (Horizonte Europa) reuniram-se nas instalações da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA FCSH), para uma reunião de dois dias repleta de discussões colaborativas e frutíferas com o objetivo de garantir o alcance das metas e objetivos do projeto. 💡🤝 Agradecemos à Professora Maria José Roxo pelo fantástico acolhimento! 🙏 Agradecemos ainda ao seu aluno, Henrique Cerqueira, pelo seu apoio e apresentação brilhante que nos deu a conhecer os trabalhos sobre desertificação no Centro Experimental de Erosão de Solos de Vale Formoso. 🌱✨ Durante o evento, foram abordados os múltiplos pacotes de trabalho (#WP), fornecendo uma visão geral do trabalho desenvolvido até agora e alinhando as próximas fases do projeto. 🗂️🔍 O #CATAA, enquanto líder do #WP6, fomentou a discussão e reflexão sobre os estudos-piloto a serem implementados pelo NeuroClima . Para isto, colocou em prática quizzes que suscitaram o agrado dos parceiros pela interatividade e riqueza do conteúdo. O 1º quiz abordava os vários aspetos dos estudos-piloto a serem implementados pelo projeto, o 2º abordava factos e políticas sobre as alterações climáticas. 📊🌍 Num momento crucial do desenvolvimento do projeto, a reunião permitiu fortalecer parcerias e colaborações, facilitando o desenvolvimento colaborativo e co-criação do #NEUROCLIMA. 🤝🌍 O #NeuroClima é um projeto de cerca de 4 milhões de euros, composto por uma parceria de 15 parceiros, distribuídos por 11 países Europeus, e liderado pela Professora Francesca Rizzo, do Departamento de Design do Politecnico di Milano.
