  • Never Again International - Canada works directly with vulnerable children in conflict zones to empower youth who advocate for peace, gender equality, education and the protection of human rights and the environment. Our young peace champions are promoting justice and asking for action to build an equitable and sustainable future. Can you support their efforts by empowering one of our young peace advocates to receive an education? Currently a lack of school fees means that some of the children will not be able to return to school this year. Join our young peace builders and imagine a bright future where we band together to breakdown the barriers that create inequalities and advocate for human rights. https://lnkd.in/efBVV_X

  • Today, on the Remembrance Day for the Victims of the Yazidi Genocide, the youth of Never Again International - Canada join the international community to commemorate this painful 10-year anniversary. The atrocities perpetrated during this devastating genocide committed by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) against the Yazidis killed thousands and subjected thousands of women and girls to sexual slavery and gender-based violence. Boys were forcibly conscripted as child soldiers and even a decade later, while the world forgets about this genocide, nearly three thousand Yazidis remain missing. As we commemorate the victims of the Yazidi genocide, the youth of Never Again International - Canada unite in calling for justice for the survivors and to bring home the Yazidi women and girls who remain in captivity. The perpetrators of these atrocities must be held accountable and together we must unite to prevent the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war. https://lnkd.in/ge6w_ngB

  • This week, as the youth of Never Again International - Canada are engaging in activities to advocate to protect the rights of children, especially in armed conflict, the children are also celebrating Nelson Mandela Day. As they explore how they can contribute to breaking the cycle of violence and sowing seeds for lasting peace, our youth peace advocates are learning about the responsibility to protect against genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity. By empowering marginalized children living in poverty to “Play for Peace”, Never Again International – Canada is cultivating a holistic method of learning about how children can become creative peacebuilders. As the children teach their peers about the importance of humility, forgiveness, freedom and compassion, they are discussing the role they can play in preventing conflicts, contributing to peacebuilding and advancing efforts to sustain peace. #NelsonMandelaDay
