  • 🌟 Pluto's Road to Recovery! Pluto's curiosity led him astray during a move, resulting in being crushed by a couch. Thankfully, his family rushed him to NEAMC for urgent care. After a thorough evaluation, X-rays revealed lung bruising and a suspected air leak into his chest cavity. Additionally, his blood work showed heightened levels of ALT, hinting at potential liver injury. But with the dedicated care of our team, Pluto has made remarkable strides! Recently, he returned for a recheck, proving himself to be a resilient little planet, defying all odds. 🪐

  • This handsome boy is Gambit! 🐶 Gambit came to NEAMC to see Dr. Townsend, our board-certified surgeon, for an evaluation of severe bilateral forelimb angular limb deformity. Angular limb deformities in dogs are deformities that affect the bones. Angular limb deformities result from atypical bone growth or are caused by traumatic injury. In Gambit's case, he experienced atypical bone growth. Due to the severity of his condition, Gambit experienced pain and difficulty getting around. To help improve Gambit's quality of life, Dr. Townsend performed a right elbow arthrodesis. This is a surgical procedure in which metal implants are used to fuse the bones of the elbow to maintain limb function. Dr. Townsend also used an external fixator to further correct Gambit's elbow deformity. Gambit spent a few weeks at home taking it easy and recovering with his family. He visited us for a recheck and is doing great! 💙 Learn more about the surgery service at NEAMC by visiting: https://lnkd.in/efbGPXb4

  • Meet Daisy! Daisy is a toy poodle who was brought into NEAMC's emergency service this month when she was having trouble delivering her puppies. Our ER team was able to assist and ensure that she was able to deliver safely. In total, Daisy had three puppies who were healthy and VERY cute! Mom and her babies are doing great 💙 Most pets can give birth naturally without assistance, but some mommas may require extra help. If you notice that your pet is straining to give birth, bleeding excessively, or there are large gaps of time in between delivering - you should contact your primary veterinarian or an ER vet near you. NEAMC's ER schedule is available at neamc.com. 📱(508) 584-1600
