https://lnkd.in/dJR8ma4g The pilot mentioned in this story is performing test flights in support of the C-130H AMP2 avionics upgrade. Newton Design currently has a team at Little Rock Air Force Base upgrading their simulator with these modernizations to support continued flight testing before the program moves into production. This upgrade, known as the Avionics Modernization Program Increment 2 (AMP Inc 2), is focused on transitioning the nearly 60-year-old aircraft from analog systems to state-of-the-art digital avionics. The modernization introduces a variety of advanced systems designed to enhance the C-130H’s operational effectiveness, including a new flight management system, autopilot, and large glass multifunctional displays that replace the aging analog instruments.

Newton Design recently delivered a C-130J-30 Fuselage Trainer to the France Germany Multinational Training Center (FGMTC). The FGMTC is the subject of this Lockheed Martin video. Look for the FuT at the :16 time stamp. We're happy to be a part of training the first-ever binational C-130J squadron. https://lnkd.in/g3EQCs4F

Newton Design recently completed and delivered an upgraded AC-130J Fuselage Trainer (FuT) to Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM. Newton Design upgraded a legacy AC-130W FuT, converting it into an AC-130J Block 30 FuT by installing new racks, communication systems, power distribution, and integrating the upgraded 30mm and 105mm Gun Weapon Systems (GWS) into the FuT. The simulator is a key part of the training the U.S. Air Force is consolidating there, the article linked below discusses this in greater detail. https://lnkd.in/dFpn5MCq

In April we posted about two Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) transfer case trainers we delivered to the U.S. Naval Construction Training Center at Port Hueneme, CA. Here are seven completed MTVR Wheel End Trainers that are getting ready to ship to the same customer. These trainers will support the Construction Mechanic (CM) “A” School and are equipped with all necessary components to allow trainees to gain a full understanding of the basic operational theory of the MTVR’s Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) design/layout, interconnectivity, operation, basic fault areas and allow the students to perform basic maintenance operations on actual MTVR CTIS wheel/seal components.

Over the past few weeks, we've posted photos of various C-130 Fuselage Trainer deliveries and relocations performed by Newton Design. Here's a summary of the impressive amount of work we accomplished in that time. Everything on this map occurred between July 15th and July 29th. Thanks to the onsite teams that made this happen!

A few weeks ago, we posted about two C-130 Fuselage Trainer (FuT) relocations that took place at Little Rock AFB in the same week. At the same time, Newton Design was relocating two other AC-130 (gunship) FuTs belonging to Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC). Newton Design recently completed a year-long refurbishment and upgrade of one AFSOC FuT, which moved from our facility in Catoosa, OK to Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM (photos 1-3). The second move was the relocation of an existing AC-130 FuT from Kirtland AFB to Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM (photos 4-9). Our crew had to remove some exterior components to prepare this FuT for shipping. This FuT will eventually be moved from Cannon AFB to our facility for refurbishment and upgrade, then returned.

Recently, Newton Design was awarded a contract to relocate and upgrade two previously existing C-130 Fuselage Trainers at Little Rock AFB. In late July, we performed the relocation of the first FuT. The relocation is shown in the photos below. The photos show various phases of the move and reinstallation. This was a relatively short distance move, approximately 1 mile, from one Little Rock AFB facility building to another. The move presented some challenges however, as the trainer was manufactured and installed approximately 20 years ago by another supplier. This trainer did not utilize a donor aircraft fuselage as the basis for the design, it is completely simulated/manufactured and was initially designed to be transported and installed in two large pieces. As you can see in the photos, we developed a method to relocate the trainer as a whole rather than partially dismantling/reassembling it. Great job Newton Design engineering and relocation teams!

Our latest C-130J Fuselage Trainer was shipped to its Little Rock AFB destination last week. An item like this isn't exactly inconspicuous, so it's not surprising that several "Look what I spotted on Tulsa area roads!" photos of this trainer were posted to the internet. Here are some photos of the loading process.
