Public Service Announcement: Phishing attempts are on the rise, most phishing attempts are trying to steal your Microsoft 365 credentials. They do this by inserting a link in the email to take you to a Microsoft 365 login screen. This link may look like an invoice, PDF, word/excel document (among other things.) If you receive an email with a link that when clicked asks you to sign into Microsoft 365, it is most likely a phishing email that you can delete or ignore. Do not sign in!

The countdown is on! Are you ready? As of October 10, 2024, the FCC requires all Internet Service Providers to make standardized broadband consumer labels at any point-of-sale. This includes online, in-store, and over the phone. This move is to promote transparency in our industry, clearly showing information like total price, speed, data allowance, and additional fees to allow consumers to make informed decisions as they choose their internet provider. Comparing "apples to apples", as the saying goes. Data from our recent webinar, The Edge, indicates 20% of broadband companies will need more than 20 labels based on their current Internet offerings. If you are in this 20% we encourage you to evaluate and simplify your current Internet packages. The more price points, the more broadband labels are required. Nex-Tech is implementing these requirements alongside many of our clients and can help develop and execute an implementation plan. Jimmy Todd, Nex-Tech CEO/General Manger made a grand entrance this morning at the opening session of FiberConnect 2024, the premier conference for the Fiber Broadband Association in North America. Jimmy serves as the Chairman of the board for the Fiber Broadband Association. He shared his insights on the fiber industry, the vision and values of Nex-Tech and how fiber deployment is helping to bridge the digital divide. Jimmy also shared examples of how fiber broadband has changed lives and made a major impact in the areas that Nex-Tech serves, and for other providers across the region. His speech and his Chopper awed the audience. We are proud of his leadership and contribution to the fiber community. Exciting news for Kirwin, KS! Nex-Tech has secured grant funding through the fourth round of the Broadband Acceleration Grant (BAG 4.0) program to bring high-speed fiber optic Internet to 190 locations in Kirwin, including Camp Hansen. Thanks to the tremendous community support and pledges from the Coronado Area Council, BSA, Dane G.
