W-O-W! What a special time at this year’s Diamond Ball benefiting Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, where our supporters came together to raise a record-breaking $6.9M. 💎 We love it when the community comes together for our children and families. From Jameson’s compelling testimonial as a shark attack survivor to the live auction and Bid from the Heart, it was a truly unforgettable night at the Loews Miami Beach. The highlight of the night? Launching our $200M fundraising campaign, Forward for Generations, that will propel Nicklaus Children's even further in its mission to ensure no child needs to leave South Florida for the best care! 🧸 Thank you to all our sponsors and guests who celebrated with us. About us
OUR STORY When Ambassador David M. Walters lost his 6-year-old granddaughter Shannon Joy to leukemia in 1970 due to lack of medical resources, the Ambassador vowed no child would ever have to leave South Florida to receive world-class healthcare. Together with doctors, nurses, technicians, staff, volunteers and the surrounding community, Ambassador Walters started Miami Children’s Hospital Foundation (now, Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation) to help guide the transformation of Miami Children's Hospital into a nationally-ranked pediatric institution. FUNDING THE FUTURE Nicklaus Children’s is a worldwide leader in pediatric medicine, and we need your continued support to meet the evolving medical needs of our children. A financially-sound and award-winning non-profit organization, Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation’s sole mission is to create awareness and generate funds for Nicklaus Children’s. Together, we can match your interests to the areas of greatest need to help you make a difference in a child’s life. Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation supports the hospital by providing the opportunity for members of the local and global community to invest in our children’s future. Your contributions help provide children with the doctors, facilities and innovations that give them the best chance for health and happiness in the future. MAKING A DIFFERENCE When you support Nicklaus Children’s, you not only help a child, but you give that child what he or she needs to reach the important milestones in life. Without your support, a child may not be able to take his or her first step, ride a two-wheeler, or graduate from college. Nicklaus Children’s is here to give children the best chance to heal, and we need your support so together we can give them the best chance at a healthy life. There are many ways you can make a difference in the life of a child today!

Nicklaus Children’s hosted the Perry Initiative, a program that encourages women to pursue careers in orthopedics and engineering. Pediatric orthopedic surgeon Dr. Monica Payares was the host of the two-day conference that provides hands-on learning to medical school and high school students interested in careers in orthopedics and engineering. The students had the opportunity to meet and learn from female orthopedic surgeons and engineers and participate in hands-on modules that included placing casts, cutting bones, and practicing suturing. We’re proud to support the next generation of women in medicine and engineering! #NicklausChildrens #WomenInMedicine #Orthopedics #Engineering #PerryInitiative

It is estimated that more than $2 billion in cryptocurrency has been donated to nonprofits since 2018, according to Philanthropy News Digest. As the world of crypto continues to evolve, nonprofits are adapting to ensure philanthropy efforts continue growing. We’re honored to have a partner in this space and just last week our Director of Corporate Relations at Nicklaus Children's Hospital Foundation Corey Brown, CFRE attended the Ripple Swell 2024 conference in #Miami. 🪙 Corey had the opportunity to personally thank the Ripple team for its $25,000 donation to Nicklaus Children's Hospital to support our children and families. 🧸 Attendees at the conference also had the chance to donate themselves to be part of the change in child healthcare by donating through Ripple’s block chain giving link. Kenneth C. Griffin Surgical Tower – one of the most innovative pediatric surgical facilities in the country – is OFFICIALLY OPEN at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital! With the help of Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, Citadel leaders, our donors, community members, and political representatives, we commemorated this remarkable milestone in our Hospital's history. As always, the real star of the show was a Nicklaus Children’s kid. We were honored to be joined by 11-month-old Keily, the first Griffin Surgical Tower patient, who attended the festivities with her mom and dad. Griffin Surgical Tower combines leading-edge technology with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to ensure families don’t need to leave Florida for expert pediatric surgical care. This is just one way Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is investing the latest advances in medicine, technology, and research – all to give children a healthy future. We’re just getting started! BOO! 👻 We’re a little bit early, but thanks to our local partner Spirit Halloween, our children and families were able to have a ghostly good time at our Halloween Party. Spirit Halloween's Spirit of Children campaign supports Nicklaus Children's Hospital's Child Life department and their work to provide patients with fun activities and games to lift their spirits while they are under our roof. Today, it was a BOO-tiful extravaganza! Our patients picked out their favorite costumes and played Halloween-themed games. 🎃 If you are inspired by the playful, generous spirit of Spirit Halloween, consider becoming a corporate partner https://lnkd.in/eZtTZJc9 #Nicklaus4Kids #NicklausChildrensHospital #SpiritHalloween #SpiritofChildren #CSR
