About us

The NKF of Florida is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, national voluntary health agency. Its activities are governed by a volunteer board of trustees. All programs and services are made possible through the contributions of a generous public. The mission of the NKF of Florida is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation. The NKF of Florida is a vital resource for kidney patients and their families – helping them learn how to cope with the physical and psychological aspects of the disease and providing them with hope for the future.

  • Barbara Chatman and Jymesia Pickett had the pleasure of participating in the FPL "Hats off to helping" IPledge Campaign Showcase today with a host of other organizations. This campaign focused on the importance of tipping their hats to non-profit organizations and the important work they do to support those in need in our communities. We had a photo op moment with Juliet Murphy Roulhac, JD Director, Broward-SW External Affairs & Corporate Philanthropy Florida Power & Light Company Many thanks also to Darlyne Jean-Charles, MBA Sr. Community Relations Specialist at FPL for coordinating this event. We appreciate the invite and opportunity to share information on kidney disease awareness with the FPL employees.

  • NKFF "Orange You Glad It's Friday" Spirit Dress Up Day was a "HUGE" success!!!   • The NKFF Team (Laurence Paolino, Jymesia Pickett, and Barbara Chatman) participated in the Dare to Care Community Health Fair at the Faith Center in Sunrise on Saturday. Many thanks to Maggie Guillaume for the invite! Special thanks to Commissioner Sharon Thomas (City of Lauderdale Lakes) for stopping by the NKFF vendor table.
