Professional Development Coach | L&D Trainer | Organizational Psychologist Improving Workplace Well-Being
Two weeks into my new role as a Learning & Development Trainer in the Learning Management Center at the New Mexico Department of Health, and my heart is full. It was important for me to advance my career in a position that provides purpose and meaning. The work I do every day—developing and soon facilitating training programs—is incredibly fulfilling. What I didn't expect was to find myself in such a positive work environment. From day one, I've felt welcomed and supported, especially by, Raymond Gallegos, who has made me feel genuinely at ease in the department. I’m confident that Raymond will be the perfect mentor to help me grow in my role. Plus each member of my new team brings a wealth of knowledge that I’m eager to learn from. I’m enthusiastic about where this journey will take me! I also wanted to share a picture of the beautiful surprise I found in my office after lunch earlier this week, which perfectly exemplifies the sentiment of my words. Thank you, Shadee Lauer and Rosanna Suarez ! 💐

Thank you to everyone who came out to the #WorldBreastfeedingWeek event at the Otero County Public Health Office on Thursday! The event, which was open to the public and WIC participants, featured 8 community agencies including HELPNew Mexico, Inc., COPE Center of Protective Environment, Dandelion Birth & Beyond, LLC, Otero County Community Health Council & Behavioral Health LC 12, 100% Otero, Holloman Family Advocacy and New Parent Support Programs, the New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force, and Otero County Public Health Office programs (Families First and Childrens Medical Services). Our vendors provided a variety of resources and giveaways in addition to free WIC bags filled with goodies for nursing mothers. Roses were also presented to all breastfeeding moms courtesy of Albertsons Market. Our WIC team presented a demonstration using WIC foods and served delicious egg, cheese, and salsa breakfast tacos to participants. Pastries and water were donated by the Inn of the Mountain Gods and fresh fruit and granola bars were available for children. We had a fantastic time serving our community alongside our wonderful partners! WIC locations will continue to host World Breastfeeding events at all statewide WIC locations. For questions about upcoming events, contact NMWIC Breastfeeding Manager Kendall Pluta at 505-670-4691 or stop by your local WIC office. https://lnkd.in/g3_mVttJ
