  • During the Board of Education meeting Tuesday evening, extraordinary educational experiences across the district were celebrated. Congratulations to these students and staff: ▪ NKC Schools made a strong showing at the Class 5 State Championship Track Meet, with athletes from all four high schools claiming eleven podium spots and breaking records. Congratulations to our three state champions and seven medalists! ▪ Winnetonka graduate Charlie Vitale received the Rising Star Scholarship at Starlight’s Blue Star Awards for outstanding contributions to high school musical theatre. ▪ Niveah Wilson, an incoming freshman at Northtown, won third place in the University of Missouri’s Creating Original Music Project for her composition "Fury of the Rattlesnake." ▪ Northtown’s orchestra partnered with Sing Me A Story to transform a child’s story into a musical performance, showcasing the power of music in our community. ▪ David Garrison, Athletic Director at Northtown, was honored as the Athletic Director of the Year for the Kansas City region by MIAAA for his dedication and support of our students. ▪ Anjanette Smith from Chouteau Elementary, Dr. Leah Roesgen from Linden West Elementary, Britney Harris from Gracemor Elementary, Dr. Stephanie Schnoebelen from Antioch Middle School, and Dr. Larry Smith from Staley High School were recognized for their exceptional leadership and dedication to our district.

For the past 15 years, Maria has been a vital part of our district, ensuring our Spanish-speaking families feel comfortable, informed, and heard.
