High Point Universities Dental and Law Top Out: More than a celebration, the top out ceremony is an opportunity to recognize and honor the contributions of everyone involved. It acknowledges the teamwork, skill, and dedication of each individual who has contributed to bringing the project to its current stage. From the laborers who worked tirelessly on the ground to the project managers who orchestrated logistics, every role is integral to the success of the building. At NorthEdge Walls, we are honored to be part of this project, from the framing to the mudding. Our team's dedication to craftsmanship and attention to detail have been and will continue to be instrumental in this project. Centered between the North America and Africa habitat will sit one of the largest expansions the North Carolina zoo has seen in decades.... The Asia Exhibit! This new feature will showcase several Asian species, including tigers, red pandas, and Asian elephants. Northedge is taking on High Point University...again! We had the privilege of visiting the site of The Workman School of Dental Medicine and HPU School of Law. While the law school is still in the early stages of framing, we have fieldmen hard at work in what will be the dental building. Workman School of Dental Medicine has installed the first 10 SIMtoCARE dental simulation units that a team of professionals will use to train dental students.“This will make us the largest SIMtoCARE lab in the world,” says Dr. Scott De Rossi, founding dean. The simulator for dentists functions similarly to flight simulators for airplanes, providing a safe environment for training without direct patient interaction. This technology allows dentists to replicate the experience of treating a real tooth, including its internal structure. PROJECT UPDATE: We want to highlight a special project coming to a close in just 2 months! The brand-new Baucom Elementary School in Apex North Carolina will be opening in August. Skanska Wake County Public School System Baucom Elementary School Andre Johnson Architects Fun Facts about Baucom... -The School is located in the nation's 16th-largest school district. - The original Baucom Elementary School building was over 50 years old. - A noteworthy change taking place at Baucom is a focus on creating outside teaching space. - Every five or six classrooms there will be an open area to facilitate a collaborative spirit and to make it a fresh and different learning space. - The cafeteria and gym will have built-in movable walls. This versatile feature will allow the school to quickly and easily convert these areas into different spaces when needed (for concerts, assemblies, and graduations, for example). - A Reading Garden will be created outside the library, featuring diverse plantings to support outdoor learning. - The Learning Commons will overlook the courtyard area. - Younger students will have a special treehouse to encourage physical and intellectual curiosity.
