NVTA CEO Monica Backmon recently spoke during Bisnow's Future of Loudoun County event, where she highlighted NVTA’s significant investment of nearly $860 million in local and regional funds supporting Loudoun County Government, including the Towns of Leesburg and Purcellville. These strategic investments not only help reduce congestion, but also position the county and beyond for growth and long-term success. 👏

Construction on the vital Long Bridge Project is starting soon! This new Potomac River crossing will add two railroad tracks and paths for bicyclists and pedestrians. NVTA's support for the Transforming Rail in Virginia initiative is evident through investments in projects to enhance commuter, long-distance and freight rail operations throughout the Commonwealth, while also promoting safer and more efficient rail travel along the entire East Coast. Key NVTA investments in support of Long Bridge: 🔹Rail improvements on Fredericksburg and Manassas lines: nearly $75 million (VRE Crystal City Station, Franconia-Springfield Bypass, etc.) 🔹Improved access to transit in Long Bridge corridor: $137 million (Crystal City Metrorail Second Entrance, Metroway Extension, Potomac Yard Metro Station, etc.)  🔹Recommended & approved funding toward additional supporting VRE projects: $30 million Virginia Passenger Rail Authority (VPRA) U.S. Department of Transportation Monica Backmon

A successful event this morning at Northern Virginia Transportation Authority's 9th Annual Roundtable! We were thrilled to welcome everyone to our new office to discuss and learn about AI, Dynamic Incentivization, & the Regional Multimodal Mobility Program (RM3P)! Cathy McGhee delivered a fantastic keynote and highlighted that a successful RM3P program to her would mean continued collaborative efforts as well as improving reliability and safety.
