Proudly representing the nonprofit hospice and palliative care community.
About us
The National Partnership for Healthcare and Hospice Innovation (NPHI) is a membership organization comprising 100+ not-for-profit, community-integrated hospice and palliative care providers. These members are dedicated to ensuring patients and their families have access to care that reflects their individual goals, values, and preferences. Representing providers from across the United States, NPHI and its members help design more innovative and effective models of care, advocate for comprehensive and community-integrated care customized to meet each person’s unique needs, and build collaboration between national thought leaders, decision-makers, and other healthcare stakeholders to improve hospice care. Together with our members, we ensure our most important priorities, policies and initiatives are learned at the bedside, not in the board room. To learn more about NPHI, or find a mission-driven, community-based advanced illness provider nearby, please visit our website at www.hospiceinnovations.org, or call 844-GET-NPHI (438-6744).

In California, some fraudulent hospices have allegedly been exploiting homeless individuals and methadone patients by offering them a regular supply of opioids in return for enrolling in hospice care. Practices like this cannot be tolerated and strict penalties must be enforced against these fraudulent providers. https://lnkd.in/eB9p8b_n

Happy Friday! Start your weekend by listening to actor Brendan Gleeson as he shares a deeply personal story. Gleeson shares the story of his parents final days at St. Francis Hospice in Dublin, and speaks from the heart about the positive experience they all went though. He reflects on how understanding the transient nature of life can help us appreciate how precious it is, and when the time comes, hospice can offer a compassionate, “beautiful” and supportive environment. Take a few moments to tune in to the segment and join us in acknowledging the extraordinary work of hospice caregivers. #HospiceCare https://lnkd.in/eSJG92qw

The advocacy efforts of our member, Hospice & Palliative Care Association of New York State (HPCANYS) have paid off with the creation of the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care at New York State's Department of Health. This is a true testament to the power of persistent advocacy and the impact HPCANYS has had in shaping end-of-life care in NY. We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished and the difference it will make!

Last week, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and U.S. Representative Nanette Barragán (D-CA) introduced the Compassionate Care Act, a bill aimed at enhancing advance care planning and end-of-life care. Many Americans lack plans for severe illness scenarios. The Compassionate Care Act aims to address this by providing essential resources for educating patients and providers, establishing key end-of-life quality measures, and broadening access to advance care planning through telehealth. As highlighted in the release, NPHI supports this legislation. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eHMMwZDW
