Thrilled to announce that FathomVerse has been awarded the Silver Medal by the Serious Play Conference! It’s an honor to be recognized alongside such innovative and impactful games. #SeriousPlayConference #FathomVerse #SeriousPlayAwards
Hurray! FathomVerse wins silver at the Serious Play Awards! We'd say we couldn't fathom this ever happening, but truth is, we can, because we love this amazing project. For anyone unfamiliar with this one-of-a-kind game platform, FathomVerse teaches casual gamers about ocean life and artificial intelligence while improving machine learning models and expanding annotated datasets. In this mobile game, players explore animal missions and train their identification skills before embarking on expeditions. They can unlock and identify over 50 animal groups from the extensive library. Innovative minigames of blissful deep sea exploration let you interact with large quantities of real ocean imagery, of which you can save and share your favorites through your personal gallery. It is up to you to find, identify, and label ocean animals related to the missions you select. Select the minigame that fits your style of playing: you can go for blissful productivity with the ‘Pulse’ game, or select the fast and efficient ‘Illuminate’ game. An innovative ‘community consensus system’ provides a secondary feedback loop on imagery of animals whose identities are unknown. So, if you haven't player FathomVerse yet, and even the above somehow hasn't quite pulled you in yet, then let this award seal the deal! Get it on Google Play, the Apple app store, or visit FathomVerse for more information. And of course, a big congratulations to the team that worked so hard on this, and also to our partners in this project: MBARI, Internet of Elephants and Ocean Vision AI #seriousplayawards #seriousplayconference #seriousgames #gamification

Creating Open Source Ocean Animal Illustrations for FathomVerse ✏️🦑 At Ocean Vision AI, our mission is to make ocean data and research resources more accessible to everyone. As part of this, our team worked with illustrator Kurtis Wothe and MBARI to create a series of original animal illustrations for our mobile game #FathomVerse. These illustrations depict a variety of ocean animals in a simple, silhouette style. In line with our commitment to open source, we have published these illustrations on the open-access resource PhyloPic, where they are freely available for anyone to use. You can check out the full collection of FathomVerse animal illustrations on PhyloPic at this link: https://lnkd.in/gBuD6jZ5 We hope these illustrations can be a useful resource for educators, artists, designers, and anyone else interested in ocean life. Let us know what you think, and stay tuned for more resources from the FathomVerse team as we expand and improve the game! #FathomVerse #OpenScience #OceanIllustrations #MarineLife #PhyloPic
