Dear Friends and Fellow Sailors, Almost exactly one year ago I was dismayed to write you that, because of Covid restrictions, I was required to temporarily close OCSC. Initially, we thought that meant a few months. We all know how that turned out! But hope sprang eternal, and although I put our staff on leave, I committed myself, and OCSC, to seeing this unforeseen storm through to clear weather. During the past year I’ve received—and declined—multiple offers that would have taken over the Club’s assets, but not its spirit of community and dedication to excellence. At last, I have found the perfect people to continue the OCSC legacy. The new company will begin operations this Spring at the former OCSC location at the Berkeley Marina. Soon the leadership of this new club will contact you with an invitation to join and carry on the OCSC spirit. I so hope you will return to the worldwide community we have created and built over the past 45 years. And, of course, I hope to see, visit, and sail with all of you again. About us
OCSC Sailing began in 1979, with one boat, a shed, and a simple idea: share the joy of sailing and take care of our clients the way we'd want our friends and family to be treated. Three decades later, we're still doing the same thing. Our community has grown, but we still know our customers, and they are still our friends. People come to sail for many different reasons and with different levels of experience. Since our goal is to meet the range of needs within the sailing community, our services span from introductory lessons to corporate learning to global sailing adventures. We teach sailing to enhance people's inextricable link to the ocean, to nature and to each other. We do this as stewards and teachers of the joy, art, science, tradition and responsibility of sailing. We're sailors on a voyage of discovery. Welcome aboard.
