We recently hosted students from the Youth Leadership Polk Program for an interactive energy education event at the Sewell Creek Energy Facility. Oglethorpe Power sponsors Youth Leadership Polk, a Polk County Chamber of Commerce Program designed to encourage students to participate as leaders in their schools and to continue promoting and enhancing the quality of life for themselves and their communities. During the event, the students from Rockmart and Cedartown High Schools learned about electricity generation and toured the Sewell Creek facility, a natural gas-fired power plant operated by Oglethorpe Power. We are proud to support the Youth Leadership Polk Program and provide educational opportunities for the next generation of Polk County leaders.
