About us
Lutheran Family Services expresses love for all people by providing quality human care services that build and strengthen individual, family and community life. LFS is a faith-based, not-for-profit, multi-service human care organization with locations across Nebraska and in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Whether it’s a little girl who has been abused, or a little boy struggling with his father’s repeated deployments, LFS stands ready to help. On any given day, LFS manages case files for approximately 2,000 children statewide. Thousands more – over the age of 18—also seek the help of LFS therapists, counselors, and specialists. Founded in 1892, LFS celebrates its 125th year of service in 2017 – marking 12 decades of support for all ages, all faiths, and all walks of life. What began as emergency care for orphans is now an organization serving Nebraskans through three areas of core competency: Children Services (125 years); Behavioral Health (38 years); and Community Services (26 years) to new populations. 90% of clients are non-Lutheran. To learn more about LFS, please call us or visit our website at LFSneb.org. Follow us on Facebook @LFSNEB or Twitter @LFSNEB.

Starting a conversation can help save a life. Studies show people who are having thoughts of suicide feel relief when someone asks about them in a caring way. Learn more about how to help support someone you care about through a crisis at https://lnkd.in/ejD6aTj.

Thanks for your support Adam Fry! We look forward to honoring our Military Veterans and their families with you next week.
So you may be wondering, “Why is a crane and rigging service provider posting about Lutheran Family Services?” One of the best things about working with PLR is to be a part of the generous nature of our Purpose-“To acknowledge and glorify God by living in submission to Him as we steward His resources, giving Him thanks through the meaningful work we do, and directing the profits of our business to the redemptive work He is doing in the earth”. I got connected with Joel Stoltenow (LFS Director) at a Lincoln Chamber event in 2022 and we gave our mutual-and literal 10 second elevator pitches-about who we are and how we serve. One of the areas they serve is the Crisis Intervention Team (C.I.T.) training program, and as a former Memphis Police first responder that hit close to home for my family and me. The deeper we have gotten into the relationship with LFS I am always proud to see how they too are stewarding the resources they receive to glorify God by caring for people in need and crisis. On Sept 11th, they are hosting their annual Cpl. Daegan Page Foundation Memorial golf tournament-a tribute to Daegan and other fallen heroes. Please offer your support to the Page’s and many other Gold Star families this Patriots Day, and consider making a donation or becoming a sponsor for this event or one of the many others that LFS supports! Visit the Lutheran Family Services website to sign up today!
